Phenomenal. Every single dish was delicious, but the ones that we found the most memorable were definitely the mains. Their classic veal dish is a must-try and the fish catch of the day was also excellent. This place is 100% a strong recommend if you are in town. Get a reservation because it is absolutely worth it. Attentive service too.
The starter mackerel was delicious. The best mackerel I’ve ever had in my life. The veal for the main course was nice as well, served with lots of fresh and uncommon vegetables. However, I tasted my friend’s main course, fresh catch of fish, and I think the fish was a little too salty. My friend and I didn’t enjoy it as much as we enjoyed the starter. Despite being so, the restaurant was still a great place for dinner. Waitresses were friendly and gave detailed instructions to every dish. All dishes were plated beautifully as well.
A really solid dinner. We got the crab starter, and the veal and fish main courses. The standout was definitely the veal. We made a reservation that day and were glad that we did, as the restaurant was getting extremely busy when we left (around 830pm on a Monday night). Not mind-blowing flavours, but an enjoyable dinner nonetheless
I had the best chicken dish here. True gem. Service was excellent as well.
Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Wow factor: 2/5 Tourist trap: 2/5 Would comeback: No Note: The veal was excellent, yet asparagus was just ok. The food is almost five stars, but needs a bit more refinement
This restaurant really hooked me from the first bite. Me and my family stopped here after a hiking trip and everything was amazing, from the friendly service to the incredible flavours. I would definitely recommend going here in the evening to get the tasting menu which is what we got. If you come here at lunch I highly advise considering taking the fresh catch of fish as a main and the grilled asparagus as a starter. Overall great experience would definitely come again.
Beautiful food, setting and service! All exceeded expectations. Be sure to make reservation or call and see if they would be able to seat your party. Worth it if you can make it work!!
If you’re looking to splurge for a meal in Bergen, this is your spot. The menu seems to be seasonal with three choices for starter main and dessert (or you can opt for a tasting menu that lets you sample all the starters and desserts). Everything we ordered was executed beautifully. Bacon ravioli came bathed in a sauce that we literally picked up the bowl to finish. Lamb pate was also delicious and well-balanced. The veal was cooked beautifully, and the cod dish was probably the highlight of the meal. At this point despite the fact that we’d been having cod at every meal we still savored every bite. The kale chips and the gnocchi on the side were delightfully crisp and the perfect complement. The ambiance is intimate and cozy. Our only knock is that the dishes took a bit longer than expected to come out. But I think that speaks to the care and effort they put into the preparation. If you’re going to have one nice meal in Bergen, make this the one. And definitely make a reservation because we saw some people come in only to get turned away because the place was totally booked out.
