Alma Lobster Shop

Lobster roll, excellent! Chowder, best I have had! Fried clams, very good! Luis was our server, on a slow night, but provided a top-notch experience. Located right on the shore, in high season, the outside dining must be fantastic. I put Alma Lobster Shop in a head-to-head street fight with the Alma Boathouse, and the winner is the Lobster Shop, unanimous decision. Atmosphere is nicer at the boathouse, but food is what I am about, the the Lobster Shop is that much better. A nod to being able to walk the beach after dinner is a nice touch.

We arrived right upon opening. The outside area is just okay due to all the flies. The view and service were very good. The seafood chowder was delicious but not real hot. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Probably would choose takeout next time only due to no inside seating. Seafood was all very fresh.

Just travelled East coast for 9 days from Montreal, and ate here 3 times! Our best waitress was the first time with Melissa. She just know what you need before you even say it. Thank you!!! They have a small menu, but everything tastes great!! I strongly recommend the scallop, best I have had in fried version, the texture is perfect, not chewy/elastic like. Also the chowder and lobster rolls… their chowder is really tasty and the losbter roll is really good, there is something in the sauce, it’s not the typical flavor. My daughter had the snow crab dinner twice and she loves it, the meat is sweeter, no sauce just like that. We also had the lobster dinner, which is a must when in Alma! Also fish tacos were good, and the size is generous. Kids enjoyed their fish and chip, they say it’s good!! Also, you’re right at the Alma beach front, great view while eating. It is an outdoor with coverage eating area settings. Recommended, must go if you’re in the area!!

Absolutely adore this place. So good that we went back the next day. Cannot say which dish was my favorite cause everything tastes amazing. My friend also had the whole lobster dinner and she said it was so worth it. Highly recommend this restaurant. Food is also fairly priced and that’s a plus.

This was my third time visiting the Alma Lobster Shop. I liked the change to the service in having someone take our order and serve us. I feel the food could be a bit better on taste for the price. Their coffee is one of the best I’ve had in a restaurant like this and I appreciate their beans. I also love the art and the ability to buy stuff in the gift shop. Cards are priced a bit too high though, maybe look at $6 each or buy 5 for a cheaper price, as the art is lovely but $8 plus tax a card is a bit too much.

Best food in town! Great, tasty food prepared with heart, outside seating is comfortable with a nice view, prices are good considering it's fresh seafood & service is friendly & accommodating (thanks to Elora!). Also has a market inside. Many people recommend this place for good reason!
