The Shrimp King: Long Live the Flavor! Don’t let the name fool you—The Shrimp King reigns over more than just shrimp, and trust me, this royal court is worth visiting! I ordered two platters (because I have a complicated relationship with food), and both were absolute hits. Naturally, I had to try the shrimp—it’s in the name, after all—and, it delivered! If you’re familiar with Sid Booker's, think along those lines: not a copy, but a flavorful and nostalgic cousin. Now, let’s talk wings. These aren’t just wings—they’re *full* wings, tips included (yes, TIP INCLUDED). The greens were tender (you know, like how you would do it if you had the time or how granny did it). The green beans had seasoning that made them sing, and the mac and cheese was officially mom-approved (high praise in my household because she is one tough cookie). Speaking of mom, she also gave a standing ovation to the potato salad—hands down the best I’ve ever had from a store. She loved it so much she called the restaurant to speak to the Shrimp King himself. The cherry on top of this feast? That pound cake. It was so good I half expected to find my mixer and flour bags missing because it tasted like I made it myself. To top it all off, the owner was incredibly nice, and the steady flow of customers in and out proved this spot is the real deal. When in Upper Darby please give this place a try. Whether you go for shrimp, wings, or just good old-fashioned soul food, The Shrimp King is dishing out a royal experience you won’t forget.

The food is so flavorful and tasty. The Chipotle Chicken Ranch pizza was delicious! Love the Shrimp!

First time customer and I wasn’t disappointed. The fried shrimp, cornbread, and slaw were excellent! Placed the order by phone and the food was ready within minutes of arriving. There was plenty of parking and the man behind the counter was friendly and welcoming. Absolutely recommend this place and can’t wait to go back and try the tacos and pasta.

It’s not too many places you can get a good piece of fried fish but here you definitely can. My first time eating @ this black small business! My experience was very pleasant. Customer service was great. It took about 7 min for my order to come out which was a plus. The food was freshly fried to order which meant my flounder and shrimp were piping hot. The fish, shrimp, greens and chips were great tasting Four stars because my 2 flounder pieces were very small and my potato salad could have used some celery seed and a bit more relish and black pepper. That’s just my opinion tho

I've had just about everything on the menu and can't find one negative thing to say about any of it. Highly recommend!

The owner is super nice and helpful. I had the shrimp and the whiting platter. The macaroni and cheese was the bomb, the greens were too sweet for my palate. Also, the shrimp were HUGE. I will be back. This is a take-out place. Cards are accepted.

Excellent spot for fried shrimp! More importantly, the owner and staff are very polite and professional. I ordered shrimp, homemade sweet potato cheesecake & pound cake - everything was on point. I will definitely be going back to try the tacos! Update: I tried the tacos and they are Amazing! This is still one of my favorite spots. The food is always delicious. I had an opportunity to try the BBQ ribs, served by the owner Austin! The meat was falling off the bone, and the sauce was wonderful. It’s coming to the menu very soon! Go check them out, you will not be disappointed!

You can taste the love! If you're one of those people who always says "I don't eat everybody's potato salad"... eat the potato salad here. Literally the BEST I've ever tasted anywhere! The journey through flavor town doesn't stop or even begin there. The Mac and Cheese was chefs kiss good and well flavored, the fries were crispy, and the tacos.. the TACOS! The Philly Steak and Shrimp Taco was an experience. The ranch and taco sauce are made in house. I am definitely a regular after the first bite.
