The food is so delicious. They prepare it while you wait so it comes out hot and fresh. We had the trout plate with the monk rice which is highly recommended. This place is located in a tough part of town. Friday evenings are very crowded. Most people get their order to go. There are only 4 booths for dining in but I don't recommend this. We eat in our vehicle. A lot of customers call in a to-go order.
This place is and continues to be a thriving business that is supported by the community it serves. This place in my most humble opinion can provide a better and upgrades to the business it serves to enhance the experience of their visit and accommodation. I feel they should show more respect to the community it serves by providing better accommodation for the community that continues to show up and support their business. We deserve better by showing your investment in the community.
We absolutely love this place. Food is delicious and fresh. You pick they fry! We love the Monk Rice, Whole Fried Snapper and the Boudin Balls! For the people running this place, keep doing your thing! We will be back for that fish
Great Old School seafood house. You Buy, we fry! Try the Monks Rice with shrimp! Very busy, and parking can be challenging depending on what time you go. CASH ONLY!!! Carryout with a few tables available.
The lady owner is so sweet every time I go there. She's very nice. I really like her. She's good friends with my friend paul
A Houston sample and hidden gem in plain sight. If you buy, we fry needed a standard set. This place sets the temp for sure. The ONLY complaint is that I can never get through the phone line to place orders to go. However, I don't mind going to place orders as the wait is usually fairly short, and orders are cooked fresh upon request. There's sometimes a bit of traffic, but again, with a short patience, you'll be rewarded.
"Let's go baby to the hole in the wall." This restaurant is the quintessential hole in the wall and I love that! It's a popular spot off of Reed rd. It stays packed with orders steadily going out. This was my first time there and I had high hopes. This place isn't old school Timmy Chan's but it'll do in the meantime. I had the monk rice and shrimp plate. It was lighter on seasoning than I would prefer and the shrimp tasted boiled instead of fried. It wasn't bad but it wasn't outstanding. I'd probably go back. They're cash only btw. No cards nor apps for payment.
We have been eating here since 1991. Never had 1 complaint. My Order Is Always Correct & The Food Is Always On Point! That sandwich has 2 Whole Trout Filets on it. Who Else Does That??? Well Worth any line or wait time! The Monk Rice is A Fool... Fresh Fish or You Buy We Fry, 1 Plate or a Wedding Reception, T.P's is on it! They have fed Many parties for us! We don't even eat anybody else's fish. Every time we've tried to, We Wished We Had Went To T.P's!!! I'ma need a free plate for this free commercial I just did too...
