Whitey's Restaurant & Take Out

This place is awesome! Very friendly staff. We ate at the bar and was very well taken care of by both bartenders. They were awesome. We had a great time while enjoying some delicious fresh seafood. We had 2 apps, gator bites and crab bombs...OMG they were so so good. My seafood Fettuccine was delicious! Fresh is the keyword for this restaurant. We'll definitely will make this a regular place to eat.

Whitey's has become one of our favorite places to eat. We often go there even for birthdays and special occasions such as our anniversary. We drive from Clarkston, but it's worth it to us. My wife and I highly recommend the Cod be steamed (rather than deep fried). I have told this to other people, and they now love it steamed as well. The only thing that I really miss is the ambrosia that they used to have as part of their salad bar, but they discontinued it at the time of Covid and I have not seen it return since that time. Please bring it back!!!

We went with friends and this time I ordered a Crab Balls dinner and my wife ordered Walleye, both were very tasty. We also had the clam chowder and salad bar!Our server Denise was excellent . Another trip up north and had to stop and get fish & chips on the way home. Cally was our server and she did a wonderful job . We also received our bread and was pleased to see sustainable forestry initiative with a fully recyclable bag for the bread. On our way back from up north, we decided to stop and have lunch at Whitey's on M15 in Davison. Have never been there, but heard the food was very good and the decor was interesting. And at one time it was a dairy farm with the blueprints on the wall. We were greeted immediately as we entered and were seated directly . The decor was very interesting from figureheads from the ships bow and a steering wheel from a ship to etched scenes on glass to stools that had actual legs for legs. Our server Ashley was outstanding! She did not rush us to order and she said several times "take your time". My wife asked her if there is something she might suggest and she replied "Great Lakes Catch" which came with soup and salad bar. If you enjoy fish the "Great Lakes Catch" is the one to get. A combination of fresh water favorites: tender yellow lake perch fillets, sweet bluegill fillets, and Canadian walleye, lightly pan-fried. My wife got the Great Lakes Catchwhich came with soup and salad bar and a side which she picked the Sweet Potato Casserole and I got soup and salad bar. The meal also came with a freshly baked loaf of bread. I must say that the New England Clam Chowder was one of the best I have had. Very creamy with potatoes, corn, onion, bacon and of course clams. The salad bar was loaded with a variety of items from pasta to a full assortment of veggies and condiments. There was so much fish, my wife was able to share a small piece of each fish, plus some of the Sweet Potato Casserole. Again, Ashley was so accommodating and helpful, which we really appreciated. Whitey's is definitely a come back again for us and will hopefully have Ashley as our server. There is also a bar and a separate building for take out service. Great place for seafood! The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, the shrimp was delicious, and the mashed potatoes creamy. Everything tasted really well made. Good atmosphere the service was friendly. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and recommend.

Great salad bar (go to both sides since each has some different items). Service was great. Menu items were great (I get the Great Lakes Catch - pan fried perch, bluegill and walleye). All in all a great place to eat. My only draw back was the building which is quite dated and lacks proper air conditioning. Also some of the floor is unlevel.

Get the 2 piece fish dinner. Either original fried or baked and buttered. You can’t go wrong. Amazing food, highly carbonated pop and comes with an old fashioned salad bar and bread.

This place is so fantastic. The seafood platters are out of this world. The local Davison area is lucky to have this restaurant. They have a separate take out section, which is a drive up that does not take away from the in person dining experience. I had the salmon and I have it at many restaurants, it was light and flaky and full of flavor.

Swung in here one day for lunch and the fresh fish sandwich was very good. Whitey’s has a great menu with fair prices and the service was excellent. Will definitely come back next time I pass through town.
