Today, I visited Annalakshmi in Toronto for a team lunch and we all had a wonderful experience. The South Indian food was truly authentic—fresh, flavourful, and comforting. The chutneys were especially delicious and tasted homemade. I ordered the kids’ meal dosa, which was perfect, while my teammates enjoyed the full-sized dosas and the 7-flavour uttapam, which looked amazing. Everyone loved their dishes. Adding some photos as well! Highly recommend Annalakshmi if you’re looking for genuine South Indian flavours and freshly prepared food.

Decent experience, could have been better. We ordered medu vada sambhar and rasam idli, rasam was the best. Overall good experience for this price. One major concern- Found human hair and sambhar, I called a guy who was serving us, and drew his attention towards it, that was quite disappointing.

This was our first visit to Annalakshmi and it was a warm place to enter to escape the cold. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable, cozy. Enjoying a fancy restaurant once in while is nice. But if you want to take your family to a cozy, welcoming restaurant, with affordable prices, this is the place. The food - yum. I started my meal with Rasam soup. When they say 3 peppers, they mean it. Be warned :). I followed this up with Gobi Manchurian. Mmmm, so good. I loved the texture, taste, and flavours. I see why it's listed as a favourite option. My family ordered dosas. Our family has a habit of sharing our meals. The gobi and dosas were delicious. Check out the size of that dosa. That's ridiculous. I don't know why we waited so long to go in. If you want a warm setting, delicious flavours, affordable meals, this is your place.

Good food, good portion sizes, busy place. It’s fully vegetarian and South Indian cuisine. Staff seems overwhelmed - they were getting pulled in many directions. Had to ask 3 people for side plates to share appetizers. Hope they get the help they need to run more smoothly. Definitely would go back.

Lovely ambience and calm vibe. The South Indian dishes were fresh, flavorful, and well presented especially the dosa and idli platter with balanced chutneys and sambar. Service was polite and unhurried. Portions are decent and prices fair for the quality. A great vegetarian spot; just a bit more consistency in seasoning would make it perfect.

Annalakshmi South Indian Restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat, and my sister and I have already visited twice—and we’ll definitely be coming back again. From the very first visit, the experience felt comfortable and welcoming, making it easy to relax and enjoy the food. The rava dosa is the star for us. It’s perfectly crispy, light, and flavorful, exactly the way a good rava dosa should be. We also really love the sambar idly—soft idlies paired with a delicious, well-balanced sambar that feels homely and satisfying. The food tastes fresh, authentic, and made with care, which makes each visit worth it. The vibes are really nice—calm, pleasant, and ideal for a casual meal or a relaxed catch-up. It’s the kind of place where you don’t feel rushed and can actually enjoy your time. The atmosphere adds to the overall experience and makes you want to stay a little longer. The service is friendly and attentive, with staff who are polite, warm, and happy to help. That friendliness makes a big difference and adds a personal touch that keeps us coming back. Annalakshmi has now become our little go-to spot for rava dosa, and it’s always comforting to know there’s a place we can rely on for good food and a pleasant experience. If you’re craving South Indian food with great flavors and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is definitely worth visiting.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant, and I must say the experience was truly heartwarming. The food had the comforting taste of a home-cooked meal, with every bite full of authentic flavours and evident care in preparation. It’s rare to find a place that captures the warmth of home-style cooking so perfectly. We tried the Mysore masala dosa, idli, paneer 65, and onion uthappam — each dish was fantastic in both taste and presentation. The mango lassi was refreshing and a great complement to the meal.
