Beautiful restaurant, the big windows all around really brighten up the space during the day. The atmosphere feels intimate yet bustling at the same time. The servers are very kind and attentive which was nice. I thought the pho could have been better, although it was very good, its very much like your next best pho spot but nothing distinctive. The starters however, deserve some attention - the banh beo was my favourite! Also recommend trying the DIY street side platter if youre feeling something different. Desserts (cheesecake and banana cake) were ok, took very long to come out of the kitchen tbh.. but my family still enjoyed them. Overall, a pleasant experience!
A group of four met up here as it was recommended by friends. You can’t book a table so first come first served which suited us. It was Saturday at 1:30pm when we arrived and the atmosphere was great, busy but manageable. I went for the chicken rolls as starters followed by a main of steak and egg ( consisting of 3 fried eggs, liver pate, meatball, onions and steak pieces which was beautiful. My wife went for the spring rolls followed by the mango chicken salad which tasted amazing. Our Server was excellent and waiting for drinks and food was minimal. If you’re close to this location on Main Street, Vancouver, you have to try it. It’s a brother and sister carrying on the family tradition and are doing a great job.
Our bartender at the Botanist recommended Anh and Chi, and we're so glad we took their advice! We visited for lunch on Boxing Day and had a wonderful experience. We ordered the fresh tofu rolls, water spinach beef salad, and the signature vermicelli bowl. Everything was excellent—the dishes had that bright, fresh quality that makes Vietnamese food so satisfying. The flavors were clean and well-balanced, and you could tell the ingredients were high quality. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout our meal, making us feel well taken care of. The atmosphere was lowkey and relaxing—exactly what we needed after the holiday rush. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine with fresh, bright flavors in a chill setting, Anh and Chi is definitely worth a visit. Great recommendation from our bartender, and we'll be back!
Delicious food! Definitely be prepared to wait for tables on weekends. Weekdays are also quite busy. We loved the fresh lettuce and herbs served with the crispy spring rolls. It had a lovely crunch and wrapping it in the greens made it taste super refreshing. The sauce on the side was also a hit. The pho was huge and loaded with lots of beef. The broth had a really nice meaty flavour that went amazing with the Vietnamese herbs. We all got the deconstructed vermicelli bowl that had lots of pork. The betel leaf rolls and pork patties tasted great and the grilled pork had a lovely char with a hint of sweetness. I really liked that it was served in warm fish sauce. Both of these dishes are each more than enough for one!
This was my second time to Anh & Chi, our friend’s first time here, & my husband’s first time trying Vietnamese food ever! This place is amazing! It’s easy to see why they’ve been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand 3 times (2022-2024) as well as numerous local accolades! This is Vietnamese food elevated! Our friend & I ordered lychee sodas. My husband had a White Poodle cocktail (named after the public art installation across the street), & an Anh and Chi Twin Sails 3336 Lager with his meal (loved the beer, it paired perfectly!). The three of us shared a generous selection of yummy appies: Chả Giò (crispy pork spring rolls), Gỏi Xoài (fresh mango salad with grilled chicken), Lụi Nướng (grilled skewers: pork, pork sausage, beef in betel leaf), & Cánh Gà (chicken wings seasoned with chilli fish sauce). The appies were all amazing, with the crispy spring rolls & wings being exceptional & very highly recommended! My husband then opted for a simple entrée: Cơm Chiên (wok fried rice with chicken & a sunny side up egg, omitting the cilantro). I had the Phở Gà (chicken noodle soup), while our friend ordered the Cơm Gà Sườn “Number 37” (lemongrass chicken, jasmine rice, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, & chilli fish sauce - huge meat portion with 2 chicken legs!). We went home with very happy, full bellies & leftovers from our feast. Hands down the BEST Vietnamese food in town! Yum!
Anh & Chi used to be one of our favorite Vietnamese spots in Vancouver, but recent visits have been consistently disappointing. Reservations are essential unless you want to gamble with a long wait, and the charitable donation per guest is a nice touch—until you show up as the first customers of the day and are told that most of the entrées you came for aren’t available or missing key ingredients because the night before was “too busy.” Had we known, we would’ve gone elsewhere. Instead, we were stuck, scrambling to choose from an already limited menu, much of which we had no interest in eating, frustrating for a restaurant that had just opened. At its best, Anh & Chi hits that sweet spot between classic Vietnamese flavors and creative twists, made for sharing and inevitably ordering “one more thing.” The food is ridiculously fresh and vibrant, every dish packed with crisp, colorful vegetables and fragrant herbs that make each bite bright, flavorful, and surprisingly light. Lately, though, the presentation, quality, and consistency have noticeably declined. The food simply doesn’t hit the same anymore. While the energy and potential are still there, the inconsistencies ultimately overshadow the experience. Unless these issues improve, this may have been our last visit.
Anh & Chi Lovely little Vietnamese restaurant serving up warm meals and comfort. The front of house team was quick knowledgeable and precise. I’ve been travelling for the past 3 months and I’ve missed Canadian hospitality and they showed me why. Beautiful restaurant inside, and the outside patio is nice and cozy. We had a few things, the Saigon rolls, Chili fish sauce chicken wings, Grandmas crab tomato soup, wok fried noodles, and a side of beef broth just to taste! Saigon rolls 8.2/10 First off the satay sauce was light, savoury and the star of the show! The crunch straw in the middle added a nice texture and the shrimp weren’t over cooked. I do feel like it was missing something. Some sort of veg like carrot or cucumber, something is missing in my opinion. Chili fish sauce wings 9.1/10 My favourite dish of them all! Savoury umami spice, absolutely delicious. The side of pickled carrot and daikon perfect pairing of sweetness and refreshing. Grandmas crab tomato soup 7.2/10 Perfect for a cold winters day and very filling! I did find it not very crab forward and only came with a tiny claw, as well the caramelized onions over powered the dish. I would have called it closer to a shrimp, onion broth more than anything else. I was expecting a heavier umami with the fattiness and richness of crab. Wok fried noodles with shrimp and chicken 8.5/10 The charred chicken bits, the subtle flavours and spices through the noodles wow! Wouldn’t change anything about this dish it was fantastic. Definitely will be back again to give more of the menu a try!
Everything was excellent. Anh and Chi is a family run Vietnamese restaurant that earned consecutively earned the Michelin reward from 2022-2025. The service was quick and extremely friendly. Grey's attitude was exceptional! Let's move onto the food. I had their rice with chicken and pork, and was it worth the $30. First off the chicken leg is HUGE, it's enough for 2 people. The skin is very crispy and the meat was flavorful. The pork chops were juicy and seasoned delightfully. I enjoyed the atmosphere here as well, it has that chill contemporary vibe to it. Overall, 5/5. No complaints, I would visit this restaurant again.
