I’ve had sandwiches all across this beautiful country and let me tell you, there may be no better value than Tan Dinh Deli. In an era of $20 bowls and $18 lunch specials, Tan Dinh offers the best bang for the buck I’ve come across in my adventures. Packed with chewy sweet meat (pause) and crisp pickled veggies, I love this Bahn Mi. $6.50 pre tip (tip well please)
A small little deli shop with great prices. I mean $6.50 for a Bahn Mi and $5.50 for a chicken thigh+ drumstick and sticky rice combo, great deal. And the owner is pretty chill too.
Grilled pork banh mi was really good! The pandan dessert was also nice!
This has become my husbands go-to stop for banh mi while in the city. Very friendly and welcoming service. Authentic Viet comfort food like Ba Noi makes! Affordable, tasty, fresh! Will definitely visit again soon!
Nem nuong is good. Friendly owner great customer service. Great prices. Lots of selection. Chicken wings (catering) were the best. Highly recommend. They were crispy, flavorful, sweet n savory flavor. Chau tom was dry, not much shrimp, mostly eggy flour tasting wouldn’t recommend that. Fried rice good.
So many goodies- fresh and tasty. We loved the pandan jelly, rice noodles with beef and woodear mushrooms, and the beef sticks with beetle leaf will live rent free in my head for a while.
This place is our go-to for fish sauce chicken wings and fresh spring rolls whenever we have potluck. Their beef chowfun is also good. The owner is friendly and helpful as well.
Tan Dinh is a good place to visit for a very affordable meal. I used to visit when it was a different owner almost a decade ago now probably, but have not been back since the new owners set up shop. I visited on a Friday morning around 9am and was the only customer. Because it was early there was not a lot of hot food to choose from but they did have the packages of rice noodles, spring rolls, and desserts available. I ended up going for the pork banh mi. It’s cheaper than the other Vietnamese delis that I’ve visited at $3.50. The sandwich was pretty good. The bread was pretty decent and the daikon and carrots were nicely acidic. The pork was the best part. It was caramelized in places and had a good balance of salt, sweet, and richness. I would return because I’m interested in seeing what they have to offer in terms of hot food.
