Just amazing service. Outstanding. By far the highlight of the visit. Attentive, fast and knowledgeable without being overwhelming. Impressive. The restaurant week menu food was good but not spectacular. The ginger carrot soup was very nice (not on the restaurant week menu). The desserts were also nice. The rest of the meal was good but not exceptional. The room is in a word, unique. The ceiling filled with random mainly uninteresting toys. It's overwhelming when you walk in at the beginning of service when the restaurant is empty but disappears after the place fills up. We were glad to visit and I'm sure sometime will return.

The 21 Club is steeped in history, and centrally located in Mid-Town East(ish) at 6th Avenue. Past the Polo Ponies that line the outside, akin to an English Pub, or something you'd see in Palm Beach, is a front bar that's a nice combination of conservative lux, and approachable drinking. TUESDAY AFTER WORK, the crowd consisted of all - as in every single person - a Silver Foxes - (that is an attractive man of a certain age, and financial stature, wearing a dark blue, or black suit). Tables near the fireplace were reserved, but I eventually found a spot at a bar - height table. The service was impeccable, although not over - reaching. Original Remington sketches were hung inside, as I was informed by my guest. The men were polite, although not approachable. FRIDAY AFTERNOON, the crowd was more age, and ethnically diverse, with a young and attractive West African diplomate, Asian business woman, and others peppered amongst a spare helping of Caucasian men. COST: Drinks are moderately expensive, with a soda costing $7.00, including snacks. Pictured is a salmon lox platter (huge, and delicious looking), and fish dish ordered by a professional chef. I recommend the 21 Club, based on the front bar.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city! Great for special occasions. Service and atmosphere are always incredible. I highly recommend the steak tartare, escargot and pommes soufflées. Cocktails are always a bit heavy handed, too. Go early and grab a drink at the bar before your reservation.

club 21 is a place steeped in history and recognition. continues to maintain its spirit of place with style, genuine and welcoming. their dishes are elaborate and excellent. one of the best places in the world to have a Level-10 dry Martini !!!! a place that I always visit in NY and where I feel at home.

We had a party of 10 for 21 Club, and the experience was awesome. There was the Salvation Army there for Christmas caroling, which was an interesting experience. They went around to collect donations after. The menu was also pre-fixed. For the first starter, I got the Lobster Bisque (4.5/5). Then I got the duck (3/5) - great sized portions, but nothing out of the ordinary. Then I had the tiramisu (4/5). Overall, the food quality was high. They were very courteous, professional, and quick. The overall lunch took 2.5 hours, which was longer than expected, so keep that in mind. I would come back for business meetings for sure. Super swanky with a jacket required. There is a lot of old money in here!

Did not expect our meal to be as good as it was, given some other reviews. But between the five of us, every single dish from appetizers through desert was delicious. The sommelier was also very helpful and fun. There is no doubt about the high prices, but you are in part paying for the ambience and experience. Highlights included the Raviolo and Tuna Tartar appetizers, as well as the Dover Sole which was cooked to perfection. The side of French Fries was also outstanding.

Woah very old school and if it wasn't on the restaurant week list I probably would've never made it. There is a dress code but that's more applicable to men, I went with a lady friend and we had fun dressing up. I'd ordered from the pre fixe menu and my friend got the burger. Even though she'd butchered it by getting it well done, it was still juicy when I tried a bit. Must be the tomato. My favorite thing was the bread pudding. I hope that's on the regular menu because I'd definitely come back for that.

My experience at “Upstairs” at 21 Club was outstanding. The service was undoubtedly the highlight of the night. There were 2 servers for everyone in the room (maybe 4 other parties), and they did a great job. They truly set this restaurant apart from others because of how personable and attentive they were. I think my friend and I spent over 2 hours here because we ended up just chatting with the servers and the other parties in the room. The servers quizzed is on each of the murals, and the common theme that bonded them, and we worked together with the other parties to figure it out. When we answered correctly, we were presented with a prize, which was certainly a nice touch. Outstanding service! As far as the food goes, I thought it was definitely above average, but not quite the best I’ve ever had. I started with the crab cake which I enjoyed. It was very flavorful, and it featured a crispy outside and a soft, tender inside. Next, I had the the tortellini which was tasty, but sort of small for my liking. The sauce on that was really good, though. I went with the filet for my entree, and I particularly enjoyed the red wine jus and the potatoes that complemented the filet (the steak itself was also very good). I would also recommend getting the olive oil whipped potatoes as a side; they are a $14 supplement, but I’d say they’re worth it. For dessert I got the baked Alaska. They poured flaming alcohol on it which was a pretty cool touch. If you’re looking for a place associated with rich history and tradition, then I would recommend upstairs at 21. After all, dining here puts you in good company; Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack used to frequent the Upstairs back in their days. Overall it’s a very private and intimate experience, and the service is incredible. Not to mention, the food is pretty good too. I need to make another trip back, it’s seriously worth it.
