Yeah, I had to wait like 10 mins, but my sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit was mind-blowingly delicious for airport food. I haven't been pleasantly surprised like that in a while. The egg was freshly scrambled and the biscuit made me decide to write this review. I have no photos to share, because I smashed it.
Food was great but I only ordered fries and boudin egg rolls. The egg rolls were bussin!! The fries taste like they are air fried instead of dipped in hot cooking oil. Elaine was the bartender and she was very nice & polite!! She was pretty much holding it down by herself behind the bar so I expected somewhat of a wait but there really wasn’t much of a wait. I’d eat here again, and keep avoiding the burgers all the other reviews talked about.
Dooks in MSY (near B6) does breakfast right. @6:45 didn’t find much of a line. Ordered egg/cheese biscuit. Wait was very reasonable and team was friendly. Happy surprise to find home-fries in with egg/cheese biscuit. Food was hot & flavorful (biscuit was buttery and flakey!). Egg was good and topped with 1 slice of American cheese. Stop here for very solid egg/cheese biscuit breakfast at a great price (not airport pricing!!) before flying out.
I had a different experience than most apparently. Burger is delicious and came out fast. 4 stars because $17 for a burger and fries is too much.
You shouldn’t have too high of expectations when it comes to the taste of airport food. It wasn’t horrible, just a little bland. The staff made my day! Everyone is eager to make sure you have an amazing experience.
Be ready to wait in line Staff get customers through as quickly as they can. They have hot and cold offerings Take away only option Pretty basic quick service fare, Burgers chicken fish plus some new orleans style foods like red beans and rice gumbo and bread pudding.
Got the fish sandwich, and it was just fine for the price. Fries was good too. Drinks are solid at the bar sazerac
Our visit was 21 April 2023 for breakfast around 0600 at the end of a business trip on our way home. Normally I don’t eat at restaurants in airports, especially to catch breakfast but my co-worker wanted to eat. So checking with three locations, this turned out to have the nice staff that cared and answered our question. So we ate in, which was a nice place, clean, professional, pleasant, helpful staff, plus the food was good. We both had biscuits with egg, cheese, but I had bacon & co-worker sausage. Biscuit darn near melts in your mouth and potatoes were server hots. OJ was fresh and not watered down. Price was good, we both received our military discount. We were delighted with food and service and it made for a nice trip home. If back in this location, I would stop back through for breakfast.
