I was just showing my husband this place and figured I'd leave a review.... Because it's been 10 years since I've had it. I think about this place still to this day pretty often. Lol the half chicken is soooo yum and from the pictures it still looks like it did when I had it. I know it's kinda silly to leave a review if I haven't had it recently but this place left a food impression on me.
The wait Staff was quick and friendly. The Mac n cheese was a little soupy today, I didn't care for the taste of brisket, sausage was good, ribs were okay. Ham n cheese sandwich I wanted extra light onions got a lot, just wiped off and ate. It had good flavor. The waggs fries- potato chips were really cool and good! Try those!
In town for work - was craving BBQ and had the option of Wagg’s and another place. Wagg’s was a good choice. The four of us all enjoyed our meals; burger and fries, Thursday’s noon special (sliced sausage), brisket sandwich, and pork sandwich with okra. My pork sandwich (I don’t remember what exactly it was called) had lots of meat on a sesame bun. Pretty good! I added a lot of BBQ sauce and got some ranch to dip it in. This ranch was some of the best ranch I’ve ever had at any dining establishment. I recommend it! If you’re in town and are craving BBQ, I’d recommend Wagg’s Bar-B-Q.
Great pork sandwich. Lots of flavor. Wag fries are great!! Love the BBQ sauce !! Beef and beans was a great meal too . Service was very good, neat place to eat!
So good! Very tasty, tender. Huge portions. Great value. Loved the atmosphere inside.
Wagg’s Bar-B-Q is a classic, no-frills BBQ stop with a unique, old-school vibe inside. The smoked meats are the main draw—brisket and ribs have that real slow-cooked flavor, and the plates come with filling sides that make it a solid value for lunch or dinner. Service is friendly and efficient, and the place feels like a local institution rather than a trendy spot. If you’re in the area and want straightforward barbecue with character, Wagg’s is an easy pick.
I had the catfish and shrimp combination. It came with a roll, a side of cole slaw and the salad bar. Everything was great except the coleslaw.
Passing through Woodward and we stumbled upon this gem of a place. From the great decor to great service to great food, I left completely satisfied. One of the oldest restaurants in town too and now I know why.
