Fun little bar, went in for beers and to watch the band “ Low T”. Fun night, hope to go back again and see the band again. It was a fun night with friends.
JP’s Ballroom in Renton is… fine. Not terrible, not amazing — just your classic, no‑frills dive bar doing its best. The pool tables? Yeah, those things have seen some things. Balls roll like they’re dodging invisible potholes, and the pool sticks feel like they were rescued from a garage sale. So if you’re looking to show off your “skills,” maybe just keep your expectations low and your sense of humor high. But the bar itself? Totally serviceable. Drinks are reasonably priced, the vibe is laid‑back, and nobody’s trying to impress anyone — which is honestly kind of refreshing. The service is friendly, and the parking is actually solid, which already puts JP’s ahead of half the bars in the area. Overall, it’s an okay dive bar where you can grab a drink, relax, and not think too hard about anything. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Great way to spend the evening and the weekend live music. Cold beer Not sure what my crappy camera took a crappy picture but... Can't rate the food cuz we didn't eat
Some of the best bar food in Old Renton. With very reasonable daily specials like ribs and wings. Salads are excellent. Bartenders are fun and the drinks are generous. Sometimes the crowd is a little obnoxious.
Do yourself a favor and get their Gorgonzola Waffle Fries. All of the food I've had there is delicious. It can get quite loud especially on weekends
Always a good time at JP's! The burgers are great, the Ruben is superb, the pretzel is to die for, the Mac n' cheese is possibly the best in the world, and everything is fairly priced. I've never had bad experience here. Update: over the last few years, services has gone seriously down hill, but the food is still fantastic. No one is mean or rude, just very unattentive and table service at night is all but non-existent at this point and there are times I've stood at the bar waiting for service for 5-10 minutes without being acknowledged. All that said, the food is worth the wait.
Love the music ans space at this venue. Sometimes the bartenders can be quite rude but not lately.
Everyone looked happy and friendly here and most people were locals, so they keep going back 'cause of the friendliness
