Description Early Morning Delight

Early Morning Delight at 1924 W Irving Park Rd brings a lively Mexican-American twist to Chicago breakfast and brunch, with generous portions, colorful flavors, and plenty of sweet and savory choices. The menu ranges from hearty omelettes, chilaquiles, enchiladas, avocado toast, wraps, pancakes, and French toast to lighter salads, fruit, smoothies, coffee drinks, horchata, and fresh juices. Standout choices include the slow-cooked Hash and Eggs, Steak Chilaquiles, Burrito Delight, and inventive specialty French toast.

Most substantial entrées fall around the upper-teens to mid-$20 range, offering solid value through large portions, eggs, potatoes, meats, cheeses, avocado, and house-style sauces. Ingredients such as roasted poblano peppers, caramelized onions, fresh tomatoes, spinach, avocado, queso fresco, and house-made fruit toppings create a good balance of richness, freshness, spice, and sweetness. Vegetarian omelettes and meat-free dishes are available, while a gluten-free crepe adds an option for diners avoiding traditional wheat-based breakfasts; guests with allergies should confirm preparation directly with the restaurant.

With morning-to-afternoon hours, the menu is best suited to breakfast, brunch, lunch, casual family meals, and relaxed group gatherings rather than traditional dinner service.

Menu Highlights

Steak Chilaquiles
Crispy tortilla chips with red or green salsa are layered with steak, Chihuahua cheese, queso fresco, avocado, eggs, and pico de gallo. Its combination of crunchy, creamy, spicy, and savory flavors makes it one of the menu’s most substantial choices.

Hash and Eggs
Corned beef is slow-cooked for 18 hours before being paired with seasoned onions, diced potatoes, eggs, and toast. The long cooking process gives the beef a tender texture and deep, comforting flavor.

Burrito Delight
Eggs and chorizo combine with corn, roasted poblano peppers, tomatoes, and potatoes, with red or green salsa served alongside. Smoky peppers and savory sausage give this breakfast burrito-style dish plenty of character.

Azteca Omelette
Bacon, pork sausage, turkey sausage, jalapeño, caramelized onion, tomatoes, Chihuahua cheese, and queso fresco create a protein-packed omelette finished with green salsa and pico de gallo. It stands out for its bold Mexican-inspired flavor and generous filling.

Chicken + Waffle
Cornflake-breaded chicken brings extra crunch over a warm waffle, finished with homemade chipotle gravy. Sweet, savory, crisp, and creamy elements make it a memorable brunch favorite.

Crispy Piña Colada French Toast
French toast is topped with coconut cream sauce, toasted coconut, raspberry sauce, grilled pineapple, whipped cream, and a cherry. Tropical fruit and creamy coconut give this colorful dish a dessert-like finish.

Came here when it was 8am on a Sunday with Chicago winter at single digits. But you know what? It disn't stop them from providing chill ambiance, excellent service and AMAZING food. And it didn't stop any of us from going there super early (last time my boyfriend and his fam went, they waited 30 min coz it was packed)! Got the steak skillet, harvest omlette and Mexican hot chocolate.

Wonderful generous owners and staff. Huge portions and tons of flavor. Will definitely be my next go-to breakfast spot- especially for the Mexican options. I got the steak chilaquiles and they were absolutely top tier!

It was my first time here and I’m super happy I came. My son recommended this place to go out to eat for breakfast. It was his birthday so we wanted to try someplace new. The staff was super nice and friendly. The recommendations were awesome and the food was fantastic. They treated us to a complimentary portion of French toast to share and in addition, they gave my son a French toast that was on their rotation since it was his birthday. I’m not personally a fan of French toast, but I have to say this was the best French toast that I’ve ever had. It was perfectly crispy, which is rare since most I have tasted when I’ve had them were soggy. Looking forward to returning and trying something else on their menu.

The food was delicious and my iced latte was AMAZING. Horchata Mazapan In the group I went qoth, we had two gluten-sensitive people and a vegetarian and everyone easily found a delicious option for them. I personally had the breakfast chorizo avocado toast and loved it. We also had the French toast flight for the table and everything from the flavors to the texture was perfect. The prices are great as well. Everyone should eat here. It's a fun atmosphere and a really good brunch and everyone working wss so sweet and took really good care of us.

Very homey family business, food was so delicious and coffee was so good, they hit it on the spot i’ll definitely be returning parking is pay to park unless you walk or uber, there’s side streets that might have free parking, it’s ground level so for people who use wheel chairs can maybe enter, there’s two doors to enter though fyi, there’s outside and in door seating, restroom available, kid friendly, quite and they also have mexican lunch, so that was a plus! but yes great place!

This cute little spot exceeded our expectations. The menu was almost overwhelming with all the options but we were happily surprised to see basic breakfast items too. Staff were fast and friendly and the food was simply amazing. Highly suggest the lemon raspberry french toast.

We were warmly greeted right when we walked in. The place was very clean, the owner was so sweet and the food was absolutely amazing! I got the mango crispy chicken Benedict(which they hand make their bread for it), the Cuban French toast, and I couldn’t choose between the French toast or the special cinnamon roll pancakes so the owner brought me one to sample. My husband got the mole enchiladas (I also sampled ) and the were so delicious! They house make their mole sauce and it was bursting with flavor. We also got the horchata latte and it was one of the best horchatas I’ve had and I even homemake mine but theirs was honestly better. I peaked into the kitchen and it was super clean as well as the bathrooms! It’s a family owned restaurant and very much worth the stop in!! I’m super picky but have nothing but good things to say about our experience!
