When you need home cooked Stop Playing I've only eating breakfast here buuuuuuut Thank You
Affordability, nutritional value, and convenience. Consider these the 3 main pillars of food acquisition. In almost every case we only get to pick two. Cooking at home is affordable and nutritious but not convenient. Fast food is affordable ( though increasingly less so) and convenient but not nutritious. Boutique overpriced sandwich shops popping up around Atlanta are convenient and nutritious but not affordable. JJ's somehow manages to hit all three marks. It is THE best value for your dollar for prepared food in southeast Atlanta. I am so blessed to live only a stone's throw away and will continue to frequent this place ad infinitum.
Fast, cheap and tasty. A classic meat-and-three southern diner. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Excellent value for the price; you can get a square meal with a protein and lots of veggies for like $10. For maximum ambience, eat your food there and watch some Judge Judy.
Went for breakfast, and the food was amazing. The ladies behind the counter were friendly, helpful, and a joy to be around. I will definitely be visiting this place more often
I have only eaten breakfast here, but it is always good and inexpensive. This more of a grab your food to go spot. Get the breakfast potatoes and the fried green tomatoes. The country steak is extra crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.
Went to this restaurant on 11/07/2025. Picked up some scrambled cheese eggs and turkey sausage for takeout. It wasn't bad. I would return if I'm ever back in the area.
The absolute best collard greens that I have ever had. Everything else that I have tried here is perfectly cooked and seasoned traditional southern cooking. The atmosphere is unpolished, but comfortable and appropriate for the food being served. The service is fast and friendly. I am not sure why anyone would go to one of the fast food joints that surround it when they could get a delicious home cooked meal in less time for a better price.
This is a great place to get breakfast that tastes just like you cooked it for yourself and then they have a variety of things to choose from
I stop here once a week for a good and affordable breakfast plate. Always hot a fresh. The staff is also super nice. You better come get you some...lol
"No frills" is right. If you want atmosphere this may not be your spot. BUT, if you want great fried chicken, black eye peas, mac, collard greens, and all the other traditional southern favorites, this is your place! The fried chicken breasts are never dry and the sides/veggies are always seasoned just right! For lunch they serve 1 meat, 2 sides, a corn muffin and a drink for $6.50. It's a great deal for a fresh cooked meal!
