A wonderful diner and experience, the food was delicious and the host/sole proprietor was great company! Please be patient when ordering food, it's made directly after you order.
Decided to try this place since it's within walking distance of my home, it's a lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside, super cute decor huge coffee mugs, I got the French toast and it's huge thick pieces of Texas toast. I got three because I love French toast but can only eat two and had to take one home. My friend got usual eggs and fries, etc. The home fries are actually seasoned and have a lot of flavor, not just greasy potatoes. All at a decent price. We'll have to start putting this place in my rotation.
Such delicious food! Even when the restaurant was completely packed, they were still quick with cranking out the orders. These home fries are absolutely amazing, I'll definitely be coming back.
My family and I chose to explore this cafe and were exceptionally impressed. The interior of the restaurant was very bright, clean, and home-like. The decor was vintage Hollywood and a very tasteful combination of holiday charm. The restaurant is staffed by only two people so please be patient if they are busy but the food is DELICIOUS. There are identified menu items but they also have many things not printed on menu and we were strongly encouraged to, “just ask” and they would happily try to accommodate you. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming which is wonderful for the experience. They take cash, cards, and e-payments (ApplePay & Google Pay)!!
I kept driving by this hidden gem for weeks probably months. I am so glad I decided to stop in and give it a try. I have 30 years experience in the food service industry and in my opinion this cafe is has one of the best breakfasts in the area. The server was polite and the food was fresh, hot, well prepared and very tasty. I chose the Chicken Fajita Omelette with home fries. It was fantastic! We will definitely be returning soon.
The owner works so hard to provide the best food in broome county! I definitely recommend coming here!!
Wonderful atmosphere. Some funny signs. Wonderful service, and the person was personable and friendly. I had the omelette, with bacon, mushrooms, and peppers, with home fries and rye bread toast and coffee. The omelette had a nice taste and cooked to perfection. The home fries had just the right amount of seasoning. If you're looking for good food, a wonderful atmosphere, and good service. Give Back in the Day cafe a try.
Cozy homey environment owners are very kind and welcoming. All day breakfast can’t go wrong at all love this place
