This place is off the chain. It ain't health food. This is the real deal good to ya eating. The chicken is the best in town. The owners are right there hands on making sure things are top knotch. Highly recommended.
The food is delicious, very reasonable pricing...if you go at lunchtime expect a long line, but overall the food is well worth the wait..
This is THE fried chicken place in south Georgia! It's nice to feel like you got your money's worth, and that's always the case at Tidwell's. Renee has been taking care of me for years and she and the rest of them will do the same for you, too! You know it's good when people ask where you're from and when you tell them Douglas, GA, they mention they know about Tidwell's!

Excellent fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and dinner rolls. The green beans came from a can. Very friendly staff and can't beat the price. Two piece dark meat plate with two sides, a roll, and drink for 9$
Great Southern cooking, counter style! Order at the counter, they cook it fresh, and hand it over the counter hot and in to-go containers. My fried chicken livers were cooked perfectly! Chicken tenders were also outstanding; BBQ sauce is homemade and delicious. Lima beans and slaw also amazing. If you want a fancy restaurant, this isn’t for you. But if you want inexpensive home cooking, this place rocks!
This is my first time trying this restaurant it was pretty great but it does have a few cons. My chicken was great. The fries and macaroni and cheese were horrible. My stomach was messed up after eating the macaroni and cheese and that is not good. Other than that the food was pretty good. Just need to do better when it comes to the food. Great prices and definitely good enough to eat and try
Hello my fellow Southerners are you hankering for some Southern Chow? Yeah you're hungry and you want some Baptist bird? I have been a fan of Carter's fried Chicken for some time now. We came here at 3:00 in the afternoon and the place was jumping. The atmosphere here is pure Carter's. Yeah, a repurposed place that serves good food and plenty of it. I believe people of our faiths are invited here to have some serious fried Chicken that coleslaw did not disappoint. The french fries were okay. You want iced tea? You want to put some of that imitation cherry flavor man they got gallons for you. Carter's a place to visit when you're passing through just like I was. You never been here? You need to stop n check it out!
