Continental Express Halal Food

Such an underrated Halal food cart right at the heart of Wall Street Financial District. Rather than going out of your way to a fancy Middle Eastern/Mediterranean restaurant, I highly recommend stopping by the Continental Express Halal Guys. This is your no-nonsense New York staple, the Halal street food, and they do it very well here. I got the Combination Over Rice, which consists of lamb gyros and chicken over rice and slathered with that delicious, signature white sauce plus a generous dash of spicy red sauce to boot. So how does it taste? Like a gushing waterfall of yummy, earthy flavor and spices in every bite! It may look like a relatively small box, but it's dense in taste. And on top of that, this is only $7.00 cash or $7.95 with card! You get so much for your money and you leave with a full, satisfied stomach. Finally, the guys working there are warm and friendly, too.

These guys are obviously working hard. Very nice and patient especially being in one of the busiest places in NYC. Shame I only could visit them one time on my trip. Food was phenomenal and price was amazing.

Wow!!! Amazing chicken over rice, super delicious and fresh. I'm so happy I gave it a try. There was a little wait but so worth it! I will definitely be going back!!

The perfect place to stop by for food if you’re around the area or done with Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. The guys that run this food cart are awesome. The food is awesome. The price is awesome. $7 for a generous portion of chicken over rice, that also tastes great is unbeatable. They fill you up with seasoned rice, tender chicken, fresh salad, and delicious pita. This is now my go to stop if I’m ever around the area.

Firstly, the guy who runs this place - what a guy! Such a lovely, kind man. His amazing energy truly made this experience even better. The food is amazing at the price point - $7 for a huge portion! Really delicious rice, lamb and chicken, we loved the really hot hot sauce too. It’s an absolute steal and the owner deserves all the business and success!!

The chicken over rice was absolutely delicious tender, well seasoned chicken paired perfectly with fluffy rice and a tangy white sauce. Simple, satisfying, and full of flavor. I just love it

When you have a hankering for halal, look no further than this food cart. At 7 bucks per plate, this is a steal in both quality and quantity. All other carts keep raising their prices and giving less, this one doesn't. Plenty of food with bread included. Fair warning, their hot sauce is deceiving. They'll ask you if you want it hot hot or mild hot... If you get mild hot, you'll barely feel any heat. If you get hot hot, it'll make you sweat without leaving your mouth in pain. It's a great kind of "heat". They're always nice and chipper. Haven't had a bad experience with them at all. This cart is popular so expect longer than normal wait times. They take cash or credit but you'll be paying the additional cc fee if you pay with card. Enjoy!
