This is a great place. It looks just like an American diner from the 50s or 60s. The milkshakes are amazing. The pizza and the Reuben sandwich were OK but not 5*
I'm from Salmon Arm, BC and live in Calgary, AB now. We always stop here for lunch in between because my daughter has so much fun in the car and with their toys, the food is good, and the service and owners are absolutely lovely! One time I lost my wallet in Revelstoke and they still let us come in for lunch, words cannot express my gratitude for this place and these people. The bathroom is well maintained with a very sturdy change table too, which is super helpful with a toddler.
This restaurant is unassuming but does the important points correctly. *The food is good. *The restaurant is clean. *The staff is professional. I recommend the Santa Fe Chicken for dinner (especially if you're on a ski trip). Note that sit-down service ends at 7:30 pm so you'll need to get take-away if you're arriving after.
If you want to go back in time to the 70's, this is your place. We came here 10 years ago and nothing has changed, not even a bit. The prices have gone up, but not much. If you are hungry but on budget - eat here. Their burgers are huge, I mean huge. My husband had a trouble eating it. My liver (and I know this will sound odd, but I am a fan of liver) would have been amazing if it hadn't been covered in paper bag gravy. I must say plain canned corn wasn't my favorite side but it was ok. The milkshake we shared as dessert was way to big for 3 of us, but we enjoyed it. The service was great. The Indian lady with long beautiful hair was very helpful and nice.
Service and 95% of the food was amazing. Our cook was so thoughtful and deep-fried our hashbrowns, which made them that much better! Guess the sauce I’ll give you a hint it’s not Apple and if you get the sauce right you can taste it for only $2.75! Benny would rather go bare.
Having worked in the food industry—as a a bus boy, waiter, kitchen help, bar back cook, sous chef, chef in food recovery, and through running a non-profit—I’ve come to realize that for me, it’s not just about the food. What truly makes an experience memorable is the service and hospitality, especially when people go above and beyond without being asked. On my way back from Alberta, I was passing through Golden when traffic came to a halt due to an accident. I decided it was the perfect time to stop & top of gas Next to the Petrol Station was Time to Eat Legenz. Reluctant but positive I decided to try the plane out. From the moment I walked in, the service stood out. My server was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. When I mentioned I was craving some soul food—something heartfelt and not just “cookie-cutter”—she took it upon herself to ask the owner if they could do something special. Even though being hesitant under her recommendation I had ordered a burger, while waiting and having a smoke she came out & said that they can make a unique, off-menu dish tailored just for me. Within minutes, I had an incredible meal in front of me. The gesture itself spoke volumes. It is not about food but about the hospitality, kindness, and willingness to make a guest feel valued. That’s the kind of service you can’t put a price on. So, while I can’t fully review the menu itself, I can absolutely give this place a five-star review for the hospitality and human connection they provided. To the team at Time to Eat Legendz: keep up the amazing work. You’ve earned a loyal customer, and the next time I pass through Golden, I’ll be sure to stop by again.
Breakfast was great and satisfying for taste and price point! Eggs perfectly cooked to order. Unlimited weak dinner coffee refills; your cup never ran low thanks for the staff. Place could use some TLC but nothing that would keep me from coming back to enjoy breakfast again! Especially in its unique cool retro atmosphere.
