The Freeze Crystal Lake

Absolutely best local ice cream parlor in town!! It is a very old school feel. They have a full food menu, and everything is yummy. The cheese fries are beyond. The kids' meal is great, has different options, and comes with a treat. Now the best part...all the ice cream!! They truly have something for everyone. Soft serve, scooped flavors, blizzards, dipping, sundays, slushy, and so many amazing soft serve creations!

First time at The Freeze & absolutely had a great experience. The Guy that took our order (wish i could remember his name) was awesome,very personable. I think he was the owners nephew maybe...? But anyway he made our experience there that much better!! Absolutely will be back. Got the calico kit kat,cheese fries & birthday cake dipped swirl cone (asked for it in a bowl cause i knew it was gna be a messy one lol) overall great experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 stars!!

Pork tenderloin. Mmmm. Less than 10.00 for a huge piece of breaded pork bigger than the bun! Nice, polite, helpful young ladies employed there make every trip there excellent. The pork tenderloin is like the forgotten gem of The Freeze.

This little gem is amazing!!! I am not a big ice cream person but the freeze had so many great options. I heard they had cheese fries so of course we had to try them. I've heard that their other food options are delicious too. We ordered the "dirt road" a chocolate dipped vanilla ice cream cone, a scoop of vanilla with sprinkles, strawberry shortcake and a small cheese fry. All of this was only around $23 which is a great price in my opinion. Everything was perfect and we can't wait to go back!! They had plenty of picnic tables for outdoor seating as well.

It was our first time at the Freeze today. Kudos to the artist that made all the custom sundaes look delicious. It was so hard to choose! Plus, I've never seen so many dip flavors for a dipped cone. We ended up with the Minty Paradise and a chocolate dipped swirl cone. They were served quickly and cheerfully. And both were delicious!

From the moment we walked in, the friendly staff made us feel welcome and excited to try everything. Their ice cream is super creamy, full of flavor, and made with love – you can tell! We tried a few of their signature creations and each one was better than the last. The kids went crazy for the loaded sundaes and fun toppings, and I personally loved their homemade waffle cones – still warm and crispy! Everything was clean, the vibe was super family-friendly, and the service was quick, even though it was busy. You can feel the local pride in this place! Our family already made it a weekend tradition – and honestly, it’s become a favorite memory-maker for us. If you’re in Crystal Lake or even nearby, take a little detour – Freeze is 100% worth it.

A cool little place. Lots of varieties of ice creams and cones. They also have cheese strips, chicken strips, corn dogs, among other stuff. We had the coconut, the salty dog and corn dog. Wish they had a restroom though.

Great local place in Crystal lake. Would recommend dipped cones and the cheese fries. I loved coming here, growing up in crystal lake. They have so many unique flavors and concoctions of sundaes as seen in the pictures. I got the beach bum with had vanilla and chocolate ice cream along with hot fudge and cookie dough bites. My favorite thing to get outside of the cheese fries of course are the dipped cones. The blue raspberry dipped is my favorite!
