One of the best Indian restaurants in the area. I had one of the closest flavor encounter in this spot. Their service is amicable and quick. We got mutton Kola urundai, mutton kothu parotta and jighardhanda. The mutton kola was flavorful with good spices. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The mutton kothu parotta was also great and their compliments (gravy) were too good. Their serving size is good for two people. For dessert we got Jighardhanda and man it was perfect. Best one I’ve had in the us. I’ve tried this dessert in few other places in different and this was the only closest representation to the iconic one back in Madurai. Overall a great dining exp and a must visit.
My favorite Indian restaurant. The best place to get southern Indian in Indiana. Exceptional service always. My favorite restaurant and a wonderful buffet!! Wish everything was a touch spicier but it’s fantastic anyways!! Love the chutney and veg options!!!
It was an amazing place to eat. i've never seen a place such like this. the food was amazing. Especially the veg curries such has paneer tikka masala and chana masala were amazing. the service was awesome as well, everyone treated me really well, the waiters were so respectful all of them. such an amazing restaurant. must try this place. i am sure you all will love it!
The lunch buffet is outstanding. The vegan menu is extensive and delicious. We ordered paratha as it was not included in the weekday menu. The dosas are light and crispy, sensational. I recommend ordering the masala dosa rather than the plain. The paneer masala is creamy and rich, the chick peas are tender, the crispy spinach is WOW! Really appreciate the mango lassi too. My daughter is opposed to cilantro and found many tasty options without cilantro on top.
Madurai Virundhu is a Tamil restaurant and a good one for Indy. Everything was delicious and authentic. We visited on Sunday as a group of 14, and we went right when the place opened at 11:30. Note this place gets very very busy and it has reasons of course. For $25/head the buffet is very good. Everything from Indian breakfast items to fish, chicken and mutton appetizers and followed by chicken and mutton biryani the spread was so royal. We sat for about 2 hours and ate to our hearts content. Service was pretty quick and we just couldn’t stop eating . The Thalappakatti Biryani is a renowned South Indian rice dish originating from Tamil Nadu, pair with mutton curry it was a combo to die for. Overall highly recommended place and do try them.
We are far east siders and we were wanting to learn more about Indian cuisine. Going to a buffet seems to be the best option so we can learn about different dishes. Driving clear across town was completely worth it! The food was labeled. Everything was great. We may not have known what sauces went with what food, but we tried a little bit of everything. We were absolutely amazed!!
The biryani here is the best in the city in my opinion. On the weekends they gave the best buffet as well. During the week it's chill and not busy, during the weekend expect wait times and not much seating.
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious and the buffet selection is fantastic—every item was tasty and well-prepared. The customer service is also top-notch, and I always feel welcomed. This was my third or fourth visit, and I’m definitely becoming a regular customer. Overall, this place is a hidden gem and truly awesome!
