I make it a point of visiting here every time I am in Boston. It's absolutely perfect. The quality of food and the exceptional service makes this a must stop. I've brought family, colleagues and clients here and it never disappoints. It evokes such great memories of my Italian heritage.

Our family moved to Boston four years ago and made it a tradition to eat out regularly on the North End to find "the best" Italian restaurant. It took several years and many failed attempts before we found this one, a couple of blocks away from the touristy streets. Now that we have, our quest is over. The food is authentic and delicious and the staff is welcoming and fun. Piccolo Nido is our new tradition.

My husband and I found this quaint restaurant on maps after finishing a very long whale watching tour. Even though we were wind blown tourists and didn’t have a reservation, they were able to accommodate us. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly. One of the staff even sang a few songs- in Italian- and he was very good! Thank you for helping us have a great anniversary dinner.

Delicious from start to end! I have eaten at many places in the North End and Piccolo Nido is the best by far. The food is exactly what you hope to get - authentic Italian prepared simply and with the best quality ingredients. No wonder most of their diners were Italian! We shared the veal Parmesan and gnocchi entrees and it was sheer perfection. The owner graciously sent over homemade tiramisu for us to try and it was probably the best I have ever tasted. The waitstaff was lovely and attentive and we appreciated how welcome they made us feel. Will definitely be back soon.

I can’t recommend this place enough. The food is FANTASTIC, and it’s off the beaten path enough that you can always get a table with extremely friendly service. Very fresh ingredients and the portions are very filling without being gluttonous. Literally everything we have had here is excellent over multiple visits- GET THE SPAGHETTI CHITARRA AND THE MUSHROOM CREPES!! Some of the recipes are Pino’s grandmothers and you can feel the love and soul in all of it. I would give him a 20 out of 10.

I was referred here by a friend, and honestly, after looking at the pics online, I did not have high expectations. However, it was the most magical evening I've had in a long time! The food was delicious. The service (and stories!) were one-of-a-kind. A MUST DO in Boston and ask for Pino and the special treatment! Don't worry, push-ups are NOT required!!

Piccolo’s may be off the beaten path, but well worth seeking it out! The owner himself took care of us. Mostly regulars when we were there which says a lot about the place, everyone was having fun. The meal was excellent, pasta was fresh and flavorful. Had the Veal Marsala and the Farfalle. Both were great dishes. We’ll be back for sure the next time we are in Boston!

This is a review I could not wait to write. Dinner at Piccolo Nido was outstanding!! Food was delicious. Service impeccable. This , for me, was the epitome of a locally owned, North End Italian restaurant. If that wasn’t enough, we were blessed to listen to Pino share some of his special stories. Too good to be true may actually be true. PS. Spencer knows how to pick restaurants.
