Food was delicious and I would consider it one of the best options in Edmonton that isn't too expensive. There is a nice selection of aburi nigiri that are all very big portions that I would order again. Sashimi was also quite nice but I wish it wasn't served so cold. Menu also had some Korean food options that I would like to try next time. Service from Lena was also extremely friendly and a highlight of our dinner.
We Absolutely loved our takeout experience from Washoku recently! I’ve been to many Japanese restaurants across Alberta and BC, and Washoku easily ranks among the top – definitely our #1 in Edmonton! We ordered takeout for a family event, and everything—from the sushi and sashimi to the specialty rolls—was incredibly fresh and full of flavor, even after the drive home. I could really tell they use quality ingredients, and the care they put into presentation is impressive. The staff were also very friendly and made the ordering process easy and pleasant. I’m so glad we discovered this gem! Can’t wait to dine in next time and explore more of their menu. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates fresh, tasty authentic Japanese cuisine.
Disclaimer: This is not a paid advertisement but I can honestly say this restaurant is really underrated. >I always pass by this area and have been interested in dining here. My love and influence of Japanese culture make me enjoy the ambiance, welcoming treatment and of course the FOOD. Unplanned invite from a friend excited me so we definitely checked the place I came first and was assisted by a lady who seated us in a VIP style room and I was very happy Our assigned server was Chanel, she was kind and really knew what to recommend and it was so hard to choose because everything looked sooo goood!!! We got complimentary miso soup, then we ordered iced matcha latte and red wine for drinks. I must say, out of all the matchas I’ve tried (even at expensive cafés) theirs can definitely compete because it was sooo good!!! We also ordered the premium sashimi which was incredibly fresh, soft, and mouthwatering. Their bulgogi was flavorful and savory, the tempura was pretty standard for me (but I still loved it, a tempura lover here) and for sushi we tried the dynamite roll, it’s a perfect mix of soft and crunchy tempura inside. We ended our dinner with a matcha dessert paired with black sesame ice cream, blueberries, cream, and a dusting of powdered sugar. It was really good! I must say! We will definitely come back again. Our bill was $150+ plus tip, not to brag but all money we spent is really worth it! If you’re asking me if I’d visit again.. it’s a definite YES!!! While, I’m still longing for the day I get to visit Japan (hopefully soon!!!) but for now, I’ll enjoy coming back for more at Washoku Bistro.
I went at a not so busy time so can't really speak to atmosphere but their set up is on point for a cute date or just friends outing. Food is AMAZING!! Service was impeccable!! You will get a good experience here for sure! They accommodated my substitutions and sometimes I say less is more, Especially when you are serving up good quality. Their sushi was just melt in your mouth! Deffinately go here if you are debating where to go.
We have found our new family restaurant! This place has everything you would want for an early dinner after work: street parking available, beautiful interior, soft music, great service and amazing food!
Would highly recommend! Food was delicious plus good portion sizes and reasonably priced
We have been here many times, and the waitress always recognises us. They are super polite, decent sizes portions for a decent price. Many vegan options available. Pretty accessible for wheel chair.
