Came here for a date with my wife as she likes Japanese-style pastas. The place where the test is definitely a bit odd but adds charm to it. We didn't have a reservation and got lucky with the seating. I recommend making a reservation as the restaurant got full shortly after we sat down. We ordered the crab cakes and they were great. The crust had a nice crunch while the filling was a soft and creamy. It's definitely great. We ordered a pasta each -- the scallop uni cream, and pulled pork ragu. Both pastas were excellent and you can't go wrong with either one. The interior of the restaurant had a relaxed vibe and the artwork on the wall is awesome. The service is also great although we weren't told about the specials so we missed out on that; that's not a big issue though. We will definitely come back. We want to try out the other pastas and maybe a dessert this time.

It was surprising, for us, to find such a nice eatery in an upstairs strip mall like setting. The food is pretty good with a Japanese twist. Those who only like ‘Italian’ pasta might not approve but we love it. Must try and we will definitely come back.

Will be back. Was greeted promptly by the friendly staff. They took reservations but walk ins didn’t have to wait too long. Food was delicious! We ordered wagyu carpaccio, 2 kids meal, fusilli with pulled pork ragu and spaghetti Gorgonzola bolognese (from the specialty menu). Everything was well seasoned, noodles were the perfect texture (not overly cooked) and had the right amount of sauce. I really appreciated that the kids food came first, shortly followed by the adults.

Very neat, clean and professional restaurant with a homie aesthetic from its decoration. The friendliness of the staff made the experience very enjoyable. Never had such a delicious european-japanese fusion meal in Vancouver until I came here. In terms of food & quality, the hamachi carpaccio + salmon poiret were on the special menu. Both made us very satisfied with its portion size, flavour and price point. The addition of kiwi slice in the hamachi carpaccio is genius!! Made every bite refreshing and adds a level of complexity to the flavour. Salmon poiret is juicy, crisp skin, and the salmon steak was cooked to perfection. As for pasta, we had the black garlic sauce pasta with oyster mushroom, bacon and onsen tamago. One of the best pasta I had. The japanese european fusion culinary style truly lives up to its hype. And Wasuta Pasta delivered.

The restaurant is a bit hard to find, and it is the only running business on the second floor of the plaza, so I honestly had doubts before walking in. However, the inside was surprisingly cozy, and I was greeted with even more pleasant surprises once I tried their Japanese-style pasta. The dishes are quite different from typical options in Vancouver, and it really feels like a lot of thought and research went into them. The carpaccio was excellent as well. Although the prices are on the higher side, I felt they were justified by the quality. Truly a hidden gem in Richmond.

Lovely dinner spot. We had a medium-ish wait for a table, and wound up on tall bar stools. Great view of the river. The food was excellent. Very unique fusion restaurant, but wonderfully tasty. The green matcha tiramisu for dessert was definitely the highlight.

The place is a hidden gem, located on the second floor of an office-like building. You would never guess there could be a restaurant there. There's plenty of parking, but you do need to walk up the stairs to get to the second floor. The place was busy, but service was excellent. The menu options were great, and we loved what we ordered. They had a special promotion when we were there where you could spin a wheel after your meal to win some prizes. We won a lollipop, but you can win a free meal and more. We will come back next time we are in town. Also, it's about a 15-minute drive from the Steveston Fisherman's Wharf, a great place to take a walk after a heavy meal.

This little restaurant truly impressed me. Every dish shows how much care and creativity the team puts into their cooking. The overall style feels like a fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine, but the balance of flavors is surprisingly clean and refined, not chaotic or heavy at all. I originally thought that mixing so many elements might turn out confusing, but it was the opposite. Each ingredient stands out beautifully, creating a layered yet harmonious taste. I especially loved their pasta series. The noodles were perfectly chewy, coated in a rich but not overpowering sauce. The combination of the soft-boiled egg, shredded seaweed, and seared beef was just perfect. Once you mix everything together, the aroma fills the air and it becomes incredibly satisfying. You can really taste the chef’s precision in balancing every flavor. Another highlight was the crab croquette. The crispy golden crust gives way to a creamy, flavorful filling, and when paired with their homemade tomato-based sauce, the acidity balances the richness beautifully. It is the kind of dish that clearly took time and thought to perfect, comforting yet elegant. The smoked salmon arugula salad was another pleasant surprise, fresh, light, and full of contrast. The tender slices of salmon paired wonderfully with crunchy radishes, fresh arugula, and a sprinkle of parmesan. It is the ideal refreshing balance to the richer dishes. The staff also mentioned that they make almost everything in-house, from sauces to even the cookies and dressings. That explains why the flavors feel so natural and alive. It does not taste commercialized at all, but rather handcrafted with genuine care. They also have special daily or occasional menus, so you might discover something new each time you visit. Overall, this is the kind of restaurant you want to come back to again and again. Every detail, from the plating, presentation, and ingredients to the warm service, feels full of sincerity and passion. You can tell that for them, cooking is not just about making food, it is about creating art. Must-tries: Pasta series, crab croquette, and smoked salmon salad. I cannot wait to come back and see what the chef’s next special will be!
