Wonderful little restaurant with a small store attached. Pick your drink from the store and desserts. Selena is a cheerful young lady who was taking orders for takeout and dine in. She made the best authentic nachos I have ever had. Definitely will return.

I’ve had some really good tacos in the past . . . Nothing I’ve had before compares to the tacos I had here! And fresh guacamole! If this establishment has not been voted “best of” for Highlands County— it certainly should be! Great folks, atmosphere and food!

I've been blessed to have met Juan and his team at Malquerida. They are some of the humblest people you will ever meet. Their taco's can go up against any tacos anywhere. They are that good. Their menu is diverse, but I have failed to find a dish that is not delicious. From the way the interact with their customers to how they manage their business, they put their soul into everything. They have a forever customer in me.
Great first time experience. I ordered the tripe and it did not disappoint! Fresh and traditionally made with all the fixings best part is they have a house made pepper sauce they serve with it that is superb! I'm talking just the right amount of heat with a huge kick of flavor. Customer service was pristine. Very courteous, I felt welcomed ( unlike the neighboring zacalo which left me feeling un helped and uneasy. ) If you desire good food with a home feel this is the place to visit. Your pallet will not be disappointed!
Great food, genuine people true hole-in-the-wall gem. Stopped by La Malquerida today and was pleasantly surprised. This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, nothing fancy or overly manicured on the outside but don’t let that fool you. The food was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything tasted authentic and well prepared. On top of that, the people working there were very nice, humble, and genuinely helpful, which always makes the experience better. If you’re looking for great food over fancy décor, this spot delivers. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates good food and friendly service.
