Authentic Mexican food. Everything that I've ever tried (new+familiar) has been awesome!! And the proportions are Well worth the money; I get More than full & have food left to take home for around $13 - $15. Atmosphere is calming. Every staff member I've had contact with have always been very nice & accommodating. In my opinion, this restaurant is just as good If Not Better than any El Tapatios I've ever dined at!!
Food was good. We had 3 people at our table, yet we were not all served at the same time. Our waiter brought 2 entrees to our table, along with one entree for a nearby table. Then came back with the other 4 entrees for the nearby table. After a few minutes, he brought my entrees. My only real complaint is that there is no where to stand while waiting for a table, without crowding guests who are already seated and enjoying their meal. They need to do some redesigning to account for this, especially on hot or rainy days.
Been told about this place by a few people, as I now live only 10 mins away from here in my newly built home. Thought me and lil man would go check it out at the last minute tonight. First off, remember I'm kinda biased as I have loved cancuns in Crossville, TN since it opened many moons ago, back when I used to drink a lot and they would let me stay after closing to finish my drinks. Go figure I drank a lot as that is also where I met my X-Wife. "Hola Kimberly" Anyway. My point is their fajita Nacho is hard to beat on a bad day. And not just good it's piled high and a lot of it. Well Los Agaves in Monterey, TN can stand up to it easily. Me and my son both tried their fajita Nacho Jalisco, and it's good, Well that is an understatement. It's fantastic. Not as large a plate as my favorite place but I'm happier with a slightly smaller dish, I don't leave full as a tick that way and overloaded. They serve Ed the perfect amount to allow you to also cram down a bowl or two of freshly made nachos and a couple sides ofpperfect salsa and don't forget the cheese bowl. (On the cheese, you don't ever need the large bowl), unless you have multiple people, as it will go to waste, and that stuff is like eating pure gold as all places charge a full arm for the large bowl. And if you try to eat it all, it's to much to have a full dinner. Go with the small, save room for the bottom part of the plate after eating all the meats and vegetables off the top of your fajita nacho. I have seen a lot of people that always stop when they get to those soggy chips at the bottom of their nachos, when it is the most flavor full section of the meal. By the time you make it there, , the freshly cooked nachos have now soaked in all the flavors from the vegetables, steak, chicken and shrimp. And it's like desert after the main course. THE BOMB !!! Try it, you will understand. If you can make it that far. So safe to say very identicle in flavor from completely different restaurants. Simply fantastic. Ill start eating here more often now that I have tried it. We were so late it was about closing time, was still absolutely great food. My son also had a steak of some sort. That was a little different though, could not tell if it was a pork steak or steak steak. Now don't get me wrong it was good, but makes you think when your just not quite sure if you got what you ordered. Anyway, I'm posting some great pics, check them out, food was perfect, staff was friendly (even at closing) and the price was around half of what I'm used to paying "EVEN BETTER". So around $50 for two large chicken , steak , shrimp fajita nachos, small bowl of super cheese , and a steak (just to try it, cause why not?) It has what looks like a freshly remodeled bar also very nice, lots to choose from sitting on the wall, if you want a cocktail or a few shots of flaming tequila, Go check it out, right on the main drag in Monterey, TN hard to miss. Looks kindly small on the outside, but it opens up huge inside, Thanks for having us, we enjoyed it very much so, We will come back for sure.
Los Agaves has got to be one of the top restaurants in Monterey. We take all our clients there when we have lunch meetings, & everyone has loved the food each and every time. If you haven’t ate here yet you are truly missing out!!
Stopped here on the way through due to it being highly reviewed. It's definitely worth the stop! Our server was very attentive, and our food was out in minutes. Steak and chicken Alambres is something I've never had before but absolutely destroyed after the 1st bite. Between the beautiful decor, authentic food, and A++ service, you can't go wrong
This was an excellent experience. The only drawback is most of the parking in the area is parallel parking. Some people are parallel parking challenged, like me. But that's not what I'm supposed to be commenting on. The service was excellent. It's a nice relaxing atmosphere. The food was outstanding. Not only that it was prepared quickly. I had tacos and a friend of mine had the carne asada. Neither of us could think of anything that would improve what was served us. It was excellent. It's not all that far off of the interstate if you care to have some great Mexican food as you go through the area.
Excellent value, and great food, with an extensive menu of authentic Mexican dishes. Be sure to try the fried ice-cream for dessert - if you have room!
Great find!!! If you are in the area you must give it a try. We had Carnitas (best he has had in a long time) Chimichangas supreme and the bacon wrapped jalapeños. Delicious!!! Great prices!!! Draft beer and Long Island ice tea
