The food is good, but not the best I’ve ever had. At their prices, you would expect the best. The service has often been lacking as well. We asked a couple of questions and the server had no idea and made little attempt to assist. It’s located in a nice area. The restaurant is clean and large enough that you don’t often have to wait. My wife really likes it for the atmosphere. Not exactly #BobbySizedPortions but plenty for her.
We enjoyed a Margarita and some Perfect Bite Nachos with Steak. Their chips and salsa is really good. We’ve been to Sombra several times and always enjoy it. We grabbed a quesadilla to take home with us for later.
Food was really good. Especially the chips. Our waitress was really good but when a large party came in, it took the bars attention so took about 15 minutes for some refills. It’s understandable though and nothing we were mad about. The fajitas were also really good and I have never been asked how I wanted my steak cooked for fajitas. Will be back for sure.
We've eaten here several times over the years while passing through. The food is pretty good. We had steak and chicken fajitas. I liked the chicken but I didn't care for the seasoning on the steak. However, my wife enjoyed the steak. We got some cheese dip and we didn't like it at all. It's super thick and we didn't like the taste. The server did take it off our bill though. The chips and salsa were good. My daughter had the chicken strips and she enjoyed them. Our server was nice and attentive. The atmosphere is fun and pleasant.
I’ve been buying the club wrap at lunch for well over a year now at least once a month. The last 4-6 months it’s just not the same as before. The wrap has gotten smaller but same price!! And it just isn’t near as good as it once was. It’s like the wrap is missing something that it use to have. I always take out for lunch but the girls in the kitchen at the take out register are always super nice and helpful.
I've yet to have a bad experience at Sombra Mexican Kitchen. Everyone's so kind - from the servers to the hostess. The food is always hot and tastes amazing. The blackened redfish is great - highly recommend.
