Ventured down to Suds while staying at Sunday River last week and wow, what a gem! Best place we found to eat on our trip by far. We loved the food, atmosphere, service — all of it. Our server was awesome and made excellent drink recommendations. The food was incredible. The wings were some of the best we’ve ever had. Could not recommend Suds enough!

A great college hangout vibe. Expansive menu and nightly specials. Lots of comfort food options and pizza galore. Everything from steak to fish to chicken, and vegetarian options. Super friendly wait staff. The place is decked out with area ski mountain vintage signs so it's fun just to look around and check out the sites. Be aware, Suds is located in a basement and the entry stairs are very steep. The ceiling is low so if you're not into a snug atmosphere then this might be uncomfortable. Also, if you're going, plan on getting there early. They fill up very quickly and we waited for around 45 minutes for a table on our last visit. Thursday nights are open mic night and there's a house drum set if you're into syncopation. This is one of my favorite hangouts when I'm in Bethel. The wait is worth it. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend & I visited The Suds Pub in August 2024 & it was the one of the coolest pubs we have been to. We were recommended this pub by the owners of the Holidae House which was right down the street (which I also recommend staying at!). We went for dinner after a long drive from Acadia National Park going back home to Vermont & we only ordered 2 small dishes but the atmosphere was chill & everyone seemed to know each other (customers & employees knew each other very well) which just gave it that chill family feeling. My boyfriend had the French Onion Soup & I had the Nachos with Cheese (which were huge!!!! My boyfriend had to help me finish them). The prices are extremely reasonable & the food was amazing! Make this your local pub if possible!

Really nice dive bar in bethel, really nice staff, with live music on both times I attended. Had food the second time I went and it was really tasty. We had really nice house chicken wings, and for mains I had the haddock dinner with mash potatoes, was really nice

Lisa is the best bar tender I’ve ever had. Came for the Shepard’s Pie and Beer, enjoyed my time because of the service. Amazing place, highly recommend.

I gave a ‘4’ versus a 5 because it was 1. Hard to locate and 2. Did not offer lots for vegetarian options. Service was EXCELLENT, drinks were quickly served and there was a lot of options for tap beers/cider as well as bottles. Hubby had a ginger beer and liked that a lot, as it was ‘local’ company. The decor and vibe is funky-fun. Seat yourself. Live music was not too loud as to disrupt conversation. If you enter through the front, go downstairs we were a little confused!

Lobster roll was absolutely delicious. Bit pricey, but worth it. Love the atmosphere and the service was amazing. Would definitely come back here again.

My family & I have been vacationing yearly in the Bethel area for over 20 years. It has a family friendly atmosphere, but an enjoyable bar area as well. We stop by for dinner at least once a trip, sometimes more. The food is always great. The Lobster Artichoke dip and wings are always a must. We had pizza this trip, but the burgers are great too. The chicken strips are a huge hit with the kids & I love them too. We haven't had anything we didn't like. The service is always great & the staff is friendly. If you're in the Bethel area, I highly recommend stopping in.
