Great setting for a quiet meal in Christchurch. I thought the menu had some good variations which was pleasing to see. We chose the fried chicken and I loved the condiment that was served on the side. For the main we had the T-Bone (med/rare) almost cooked perfectly too. Meat had a pretty good flavour, just a little tough for a medium rare. Stringy fries were fantastic and so was the rocket salad. Would definitely come again.

Highly recommend booking a table in advance. This restaurant is in the city centre and if you come in the evening without a booking, you may need to wait at least 40 minutes. We came on a weekday and still waited for quite a while. Luckily, they arranged a spot for us at the back near the bar, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend those seats — it was too noisy and the service was average there. But the food really made up for it. Everything we ordered tasted great. The prawn linguine was my favourite — fresh prawns and perfect flavour. A must-try!

We went to Amazinita for a birthday dinner. The food was very tasty — I recommend it, and the portions are generous. However, the service wasn’t the best. We had to get up several times to place orders, and other times just to have our dirty plates taken away. One of the dishes took around 40 minutes to arrive, and by the time it came, everyone else at the table had already finished eating. There was a live DJ, which is nice, but the music was way too loud for dinner — it was hard to have a conversation. For cocktails, though, it’s a good spot and I would go back just for that.

Absolute amazing. The food was perfect, one of the best meals my wife and I have had and we eat out a lot. Great service as well! Definitely recommend!

Great food. Just the right portion sizes. Seating for large groups. A bit noisy but otherwise a good ambience.

Our first time dining at Amazonita & it was amazing! We sat outside with our dog, and one of the lovely staff we kind enough to bring out a bowl of water and treats for our Pup We had a delicious meal and the cocktails were tasty too! Its a really nice vibe and cool atmosphere here! Highly recommend!!

That was a fantastic meal, and I don't say that lightly. I would re-order everything we had tonight and, while I didn't take a photo of every plate, let me just say that each of these tasted better than similar dishes I had at a 'higher end' restaurant the night before. I'd be more than happy to order just the croquettes for myself, but add the prawn linguini to it and it's so, so good. Our table also split a rib-eye which was cooked well to our temp, the pork mac & cheese, and the buttermilked fried chicken entree. Very happy with the cocktails as well. Basically, happy with everything which is why I'm writing this to remind myself that YES I would come back again next time I'm in Christchurch.
