Went for dinner last night with my wife. I had the NewYork strip which was cooked perfectly. The French beans were beautifully blanched and cooked al dente. The steak fries were probably cooked in beef tallow and had amazing flavor, hot and crispy outside and tender inside. By themselves they were great but the parmesan garlic cream sauce on the fries was amazing! A flavor explosion with perfect gravy condistency. The steak had some braised cherries on top which gave a mouthful of steak a nice sweet and tart accent. Delicious. My wife had a lovely green salad with a delightful light vinagrette and some crunchy pepitos. Her meal was the shrimp risotto. The shrimp were huge in size and sweet in flavor with a perfectly done crispy beer batter shell. The risotto was a wild mushroom risotto with rich earthy flavor with some shaved parmesan as a nice salty accompaniment. We shared the rosemary honey creme brulee for desert with a sliced fresh strawberry on top and some toasted crumble on top. The creme was a perfect consistency, the brulee cracked satisfyingly when struck with the spoon and the rosemary came through on the background like a gentle breeze. Amazing meal overall. The Archie's Old Fashioned, made with bourbon and two kinds of bitters and served with a Luxardo cherry is spot on!
I was in town from Atlanta visiting a close buddy and we grabbed dinner at Archies. Walking up to the restaurant I had no idea that behind the door was going to be one of the best dining experiences I’ve had I a long time. This place is quaint and cozy, reservations are highly recommended. The drinks (old fashions) were mixed to perfection. The appetizers we ordered were spectacular, I highly recommend the pesto fries. I had the Walleye which I was told was the signature dish, it was out of this world. My buddy ordered the steak and his wife had the risotto, everything was cooked to perfection. This place is a legit hidden gem, locally owned by the chef. If you’re in Green Bay/Suamico area I highly recommend grabbing dinner. Next trip I make up North, I’ll definitely be going back, 5*
I’d give this place an 11 if I could. Outstanding. Food was delicious and top quality. It came out quick and steaming hot. Atmosphere is very chill, love it. Highly recommend
Tried to drop in one Friday night with no reservation and couldn't get in so we tried again with one later. I'm so glad we did! The drinks were strong and the food was delicious. We had the specials of the evening - wonderful. Our server was attentive and friendly. Our bar server was quick and also friendly. Had a very lovely time and we will be back for sure! Oh and the pumpkin cheesecake was amazing!
Over the past couple of years, this place has transformed into a true fine-dining destination. The food was absolutely amazing—top quality ingredients with beautiful presentation. Service was exceptional from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back with more friends. An outstanding dining experience overall. You might hesitate to make a reservation at a place labeled as a ‘bar,’ but it’s so much more than that!
My family and I have this hobby of celebrating time together while trying restaurants with unique atmospheres. If you're in the Green Bay area for any reason, Archie's is a must visit. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and conversation. A reservation only establishment, we learned it's a family affair. With Chef Curt at the helm for about two years, crafting seasonal, local flavors we were excited about the menu. My family ordered the Brussels sprouts and calamari to start. Then with the macadamia nut crusted walleye as a popular dish, I chose that. The appetizers we chose were absolutely heavenly. The best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted, I could've eaten the entire bowl as my meal (and almost did). Calamari is a favorite for us and this did not disappoint, crispy flavorful, my son almost ate this entire plate by himself! When my walleye dish was placed in front of me, I was so excited to dive in. The fish was so incredibly tender, divine, the seasonal vegetables cooked to perfection and dripping in such a delicate flavor. The best walleye l've ever had. In such an unassuming dive bar, to experience hand crafted food at this level of flavor was an experience for us. The service was top notch. Archie's is really a must visit. We will absolutely be back, highly recommend.
Celebrated our 45th here tonight. Crab cakes were outstanding. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
2nd trip with a special guest from the air force. Really well done. Understand owner is a highly trained 1 man show. So substitution is not a thing. If you want great flavor this is the place. Our 3 dishes were great. My neighbor was here for dinner said great food as well. Chef on!
