Down at Mohegan for a volleyball tournament. Found Donatello’s on Google and didn’t disappoint. Owner was super friendly, and food was fantastic. Highly recommend!!
This is NOT your typical pizza place or Spanish food joint. They literally blow every restaurant in the same category in New london County and beyond out of the water! I was a traveling cook for 5 years and have taken interest in cooking since I was 8 so I'm pretty picky about where I eat as I'd rather make it myself because many places I've come across are mediocre. But not good Ole Donatello's! I am absolutely hooked! They always have amazing specials so I can order every day of the week seeing that im always stuck at work. The only days I dont order lunch/dinner is Sundays and Mondays because I dont have to work those days, and they're closed. Their portions are huge and well worth the price. I typically spend around $30-40 and get two meals out of it.
1st time here, will be back! Generous portions, yummy food, quick friendly service. indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for outdoor next to the river. This sandwich was enough for 2 meals.
I would like to thanks Jaime Mateo n his wife Jessica for this amazing food, the service everything was delicious the steak n cheese empanadilla its to die for mmmmm and missed Onyx's food pic cause he's start eating right away lol but he said was awesome. Been wanting to stop for sometime and finally did. Wish I had stopped sooner! Very friendly staff and amazing food. Check out their Facebook page for daily specials. Everything I sampled and purchased was delicious! The owner Jay was very pleasant and informative. Will definitely be going back again and again.
A Small, Lovely Comfortable Place that serves a HUGE Variety of Dishes! I had a Pepper Steak Mofongo, my Wife had a Bacon Wrapped Meat Loaf, fast service, CLEAN environment, Fantastic Staff, you need to check this out....no seriously, you do lol
I got pollo guisado, alcapurria (not pictured) and three beef empanadas. I have NEVER been disappointed with anything I have ordered here. I'm originally from NJ and there is a large Puerto Rican population there and this food reminds me of home. I highly recommend any and all things Puerto Rican here. The Mac n cheese is also amazing, and they make really good grinders as well. You can never go wrong
The atmosphere is small but cozy and a great use of space. Everyone is friendly and no rushing us to order. The food is fresh, authentic and decently priced. The specials are amazing just like the smell when you walk through the door. It's conveniently located and you have to get an empanada if you stop. Best we have had in a while. Their rice is delicious on its own but the beans are an added bonus of deliciousness. We will definitely be stopping again.
