This was our second time visiting Hook & Cleaver for happy hour, and it was just as good as the first. Our service was phenomenal and the food was fantastic. We ordered the appetizer ribs and they were the best ribs I have ever had. They were super smoky and the barbecue sauce was delicious. We also had the clam chowder, a side salad (homemade ranch-yum!), and the crab and shrimp cakes. Everything was really good and we left happy.
Late Sunday brunch for two. Food was awesome, view was awesome, service was par. Crabcake Benedict was indescribable; egg was perfect, crabcake was perfect, muffin was a bit firm but delivered the goods. View of Possession Sound, Whidbey, and Hat Island is worth the wait for a table, if you have (we didn't). Team was friendly, but seemed mildly flustered. Took a bit for service, drinks, and food. Service was prompt on second round of beverages, and the level of attention was well balanced. We had the coffee drinks - B52 and Nudge, well executed. Atmosphere is relaxed, decor is spartan. Price was a step up but food was worth it.
We had a great experience at Hook & Cleaver. The food was really good. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared. The service was excellent as well. Pete took great care of us and was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Overall, we had a fantastic meal and experience.
Great location and atmosphere is amazing. Service was great and food was great. I had the pork belly appetizer that was perfectly cooked with a very unique flavor. Best deal for sure is the early bird special 3 course meal which has a nice selection of items to choose from.
Last night was my second experience at Hook & Cleaver and I cannot praise the restaurant high enough. The food — taste and presentation — was wonderful. The service was excellent, friendly, fast, and efficient. Ruby, our server, was a delight. My hosts shared their wedge salad and halibut croquettes starters with me. Yum!! Perfect blend of blue cheese, bacon, and lettuce on the salad and wonderful halibut pieces in the croquettes. I enjoyed the pork chop plate for my main — two beautifully cooked bone-in chops with roasted Brussels sprouts and fingerling potatoes, all drizzled with a yummy demi glaze. For dessert I chose a pear sorbet with raspberry swirls. I would give ten stars if allowed. Just a great experience all around. And I have leftovers for my dinner today!
We had an early dinner there tonight and our view was amazing. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had the Cajun shrimp and my daughter had a perfectly cooked steak. The ahi poke appetizer was fresh and light.
This was my first time ordering a Thanksgiving meal from this restaurant, and it was such a great experience! Everything was packed so neatly and clearly labeled, and they even included detailed cooking instructions along with a thermometer to check the turkey’s temperature, such a thoughtful touch. I really appreciate the chef who planned and prepared this meal. You can tell it was made with care, and everything tasted fresh, well-balanced, and healthy. I’m so glad I chose this place for Thanksgiving, and I’ll definitely order again!
Incredible seafood with great service. It was our anniversary and the food was perfect, the drinks were strong, and the service from Phil was very friendly and responsive. He recommended the bread pudding for dessert and he was spot on - it was delightful.
