Wonderful spot, small and cosy. Beautifully decorated with a smiling staff. We had the fondue to start - perfect amount for two with delicious garlic bread and a lovely sharp taste to the cheese. Had Pinot noir as our waitress recommended and she was spot on. The wine went well with the fondue and even better with the saddle of rabbit stuffed with mushrooms and a very large serving of duck breast cooked to a perfect medium rare. We had a cheese plate of 3 cheeses for dessert and she suggested a different wine to pair with the cheeses, also delicious. We didn’t eat until 1:30 so we were able to linger until 3:30 as there were no longer people waiting for tables. Wonderful meal at a perfect little spot.
We cannot say enough good things about our experience at Le Lapin Sauté. The atmosphere was extremely cozy, we sat by the fire and melted away the chill of the 12 degree night before diving into the amazing fondue appetizer of delicious cheese and bread that was just the right size to share. Our Server Sara was extremely friendly and walked us through a customized meal based on what we were looking for, down to the amazing salted honey pie for dessert. Everything was exceptional and quite reasonably priced. This will be a must-do on any return trip we make to this beautiful city. Merci beaucoup Sara et Le Lapin Sauté!
We started off with the french onion soup which was very very good and the best I had in ville de Québec. Also the bread was simple but tasted great, very fresh. For the main dishes we had the Mushroom ravioli and the rabbit leg with duck sausage. The Mushroom ravioli was very good, in a nice cream sauce. The rabbit leg was quite good as well, but could be slightly more crispy. It came with lots of beans. The duck sausage tasted nice. For dessert we had the poached pear which was a bit of a let down. We expected it to be warm but it was cold. I would suggest trying to heat it up as I think it would taste better this way and bring out the flavours more. The service was very good as the staff worked as a team when serving our table instead of just having one server. Overall quite a nice resturant.
It’s a small restaurant with no more than 15 tables, and given how popular it is, you’d better make a reservation in advance if you plan to eat there. We tried the onion soup, poutine, rabbit pie, and cassoulet, accompanied by hot cider—everything was succulent and super yummy! I really hope I can go there again.
You need to reserve a table!! we came for the French onion soup as we had read that it was the best in Quebec City - the soup is really good however we had a fantastic one the night before!! the restaurant is great and there's people constantly trying their luck to get in. Reservations are a must.. We had the pot pie, fondue, and three onions soups, plus two cheese boards, the pot pie was the star of the show. the onion soup was good but not knock out good. the ice tea needs to be mentioned as great value - we also had a bottle of red wine. overall the atmosphere was great and the street the restaurant on is very pretty.
This little restaurant is super cute and charming, both inside and out! We came here on our first night in Quebec City. There are only maybe 8 tables, so a reservation is a must. As the name implies, the menu leans heavily towards rabbit dishes, but there are also several duck dishes, if you don't fancy rabbit. I started with the rabbit croquettes on a bed of beet hummus. The croquettes were nice and crunchy on the outside, but maybe a touch dry inside. The beets added more color than flavor to the hummus, which was to my liking (not being a big hummus person). My husband started with the onion soup which he enjoyed very much. You will find there are as many variations on onion soup in Quebec City as there are restaurants. I gave this one a 7 out of ten, but my husband gave it a 9. So, there you have it. There's a taste for everyone! For the entree, I ordered the rabbit leg with mustard sauce, a traditional preparation done fairly well. My husband went off-theme and ordered the pork loin, but he was not disappointed. Overall, it was a great first Quebecois meal. More than anything, I just loved the charming ambiance.
We came here for Valentine’s Day and got a reservation! We ordered the rabbit leg, duck leg, with Duck Sausage combo – all were very flavorful and tender. We also tried the duck breast( Duck Magret) , which was cooked perfectly, and the peppercorn sauce was amazing. Their sangria was delicious too! The staff were very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We really enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it!
We did enjoy this spot, the atmosphere is cozy and the service was great! Our favourite dish was the fondue so I highly recommend ordering that! Plus I really enjoyed the hot chocolate as well! Overall it was a good experience and definitely worth a try!
