Every Sunday we come here and leave with no disappointments. Staff is friendly & has good sense of humor. The atmosphere is very fitting & the cooking is always great which they just got a new cook who makes some killer food! It's also ORV friendly which is a plus!
loved this place. the food was delicious got wild game meatloaf with mashed potatoes. cod dinner was also good. friendly service. very busy place lots of locals and visitors like us. expect a wait but worth it.
We stopped by for lunch and found the interior to be quite pleasant, exuding a charming "up north" atmosphere. We began our meal with some delicious cheese curds. I chose the fish basket, which came with two pieces of cod and fries, and opted to upgrade to onion rings. Both the fish and onion rings were excellent. My companion ordered the cowboy burger with an extra patty, and that was also really tasty. The service was good, and there was ample parking available (at least ten side-by-sides parked outside & still plenty of room). It's definitely worth stopping by! My only (minor) complaint was that they served Pepsi instead of Coke! Just a personal preference.
Visiting from out of town but have heard good things through family that this was the place to try when coming up north. Has been around for decades. I was not disappointed. Came for dinner on a Saturday night. Got the prime rib special with mashed potatoes Mac n cheese. Also ordered the bison burger with onion rings. Would recommend everything. The batter on the onion rings are perfection. The cook and flavor of the bison are worth coming back for. So came for lunch the next day and had to try the pizza, chicken tenders with fries. The pizza was too greasy but overall good flavor. The tenders were good have had better but can't complain. Wish I lived locally so I could come every week.
Dined here twice while on vacation in the area. Plenty of easy in and out parking for those towing toys. The food was good and very reasonably priced, as were the libations. The staff was friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere with plenty of space, several TV's and a bar which has the "local watering hole vibe". Beautiful outdoor seating! Try the smoked trout dip and mini tacos.
We have made this a weekly visit. This place has some awesome food! Their meatloaf is incredible, they have the best cheese curds, crab Rangoons. There is usually a special posted. I’m telling you they must have a trained chef, not just a cook, to come up with the menus they have. Exceptional!
We are staying in the area on a getaway and decided to drop in for lunch. Service was friendly and as quick as could be with only one server working at the time. We started with the smoked trout dip which had an excellent flavor and texture. The brussels were excellent. A nice crunch and savory sauce. And the burgers were cooked to perfection. I also grabbed a T-shirt for a souvenir. I’d definitely return.
Excellent place to get food after a hard day on the trails . Plenty of parking for your ATV , snowmobile or motorcycle. True Northern Michigan atmosphere and everyone seems to be in a good mood because of the great outdoors. The fish basket is excellent and would definitely recommend this historic restaurant.
