We stopped here for dinner on a Monday night in November. One of us had been here before and had a good experience and it was in our way home. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a bartender quickly. She gave us menus and took our drink orders. I had the BLT and a cup of the New England clam chowder. Both were good and I’m fairly certain they make their own soup. We going out for a bit. The crowd was light but the atmosphere was casual and easygoing. There is a fire station next door and there was a lot of firefighter memorabilia in the decor. This felt like a hometown bar. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The other bar patrons were friendly. Prices were comparable to most other places we go to at home. We parked in the street - that was easy enough and no parking meter that I noticed. Not sure if there is a parking lot - we didn’t look for one some there was plenty of space on the street. We had a nice time. I would go here again if ever in the area.
We really enjoyed our dinner/snack after the basketball game. We got there about 9:30 pm. There were plenty of tables and it wasn't too noisy. It is a fire fighter themed restaurant and bar. The waitresses were very friendly and we got to meet the owner. We would definitely go back. Our food was so hot, we needed to wait for it to cool down. The crab dip was delicious. We got it with the homemade house chips. They reminded us of a taco bowl shell. The onion rings were delicious, and it is hard to go wrong with chicken tenders. They also offer pizza which we might try next time. Our neice says it is really good. I guess I forgot to take pictures of the food. If you haven't been here, we highly recommend you try it.
We ate here tonight on our way home from skiing at Liberty Mountain and it was great! The inside is very cozy and the antique decor is cool. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent! This was just the type of meal we were looking for after a long and tiring day. We’ll be sure to stop up next time we come up!
This was not my first time visiting here, but this is my overdue review. I entered at 5 PM and about the time I planted my butt in a barstool a pleasant bar tender/server was asking what I'd like to drink and offering me a menu. The draft beer I ordered was as cold as it was quick...a good thing. I decided on Oysters Roberto for an app. The tasty delicacy showed up in about ten minutes and was heartily consumed shortly thereafter. I followed up with the Emmitsburger and onion rings. The burger was disappointing in that it was a smallish patty instead of the handmade ground beef beast I'd hoped for. The flavor was maybe a 5 out of 10. The o-rings were plentiful and tasty. I don't know if it is politically correct to say so these days, but, every lady working behind the bar was as attractive as they were professional. They were efficient. They were amazing. I feel compelled to mention that I happened to be seated where I had a perfect view of the kitchen staff at work. The efficient teamwork I witnessed was truly admirable. YES, I will definitely return here again!
Delicious food and great prices. The French onion soup was amazing.
Arrived mid-week at lunch time. Sign displayed mentioned staff shortage and to please be patient. Seated ourselves. Got our own menus from bar . Wait time was not too bad. Ordered fried fish sandwich with fries and fried oyster sandwich with side of chips. Portions were small and food tasted okay but cooled off quickly
Great neighborhood restaurant. The service was great. If you eat only one thing here - make sure it is the crab dip !
Always a must stop when you are in Emmitsburg. Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. Love the wings, burgers, pizza and our new favorite the crab dip cheese fries! Can't wait for our next visit!
