The customer service at the restaurant is great. All the staff are very friendly and kind. The cheese donkatsu was crispy and warm, with gooey melted cheese inside. The pork was tender, and the crunchy coating made each bite delicious. Overall the batter does not taste oily. Also their Netsu ramen is one of my favourite, it’s very flavourful and it’s warms my belly up during winter.
I didn't expect the Donkatsu to be this good. Although the restaurant is quite small, it's very clean and well kept, and the service was good. The Pork cutlet was perfectly fried - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We shared the Rose Garlic Katsu, and Fried Shrimp and Grilled Chashu. The portion was more than satisfying for two of us, everything was flavorful. Overall, it's a small spot that delivers big on quality. If you're a fan of Japanese -style fried pork cutlets, this place is absolutely worth trying. Highly recommended.
The food is delicious, and the service is really fast. We ordered the cheese corn as an appetizer, and it was delicious. The spice level 1 is fair. Not too spicy. The portions are really well served. We shared a plate and went out so full.
Very polite servers. Excellent food. From the taste to the presentation. Lovely dining atmosphere. The Rosè was excellent for me but the real winner is the original Brown. As well as the Jaampong ramen. Everything was SOOO good. Even the owner popped his head out to say hello. Gotta respect an owner in great shape!
We recently visited Brown Donkatsu in North York and had an amazing meal! We ordered the Cheese Bomb Katsu, Brown Pork Katsu, Katsudon, and Carbonara Katsu — and honestly, every single dish was delicious. The Cheese Bomb Katsu was indulgent and perfectly cheesy, while the Brown Pork Katsu had that perfect crispy exterior and tender, juicy meat inside. The Katsudon was comforting, with a soft, flavorful egg topping that went beautifully with the rice. And the Carbonara Katsu was a fun twist — creamy, savory, and totally satisfying. The portions were generous, the plating was appealing, and the flavors were spot on. The restaurant has a cozy, casual vibe that’s perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. Service was friendly and attentive too. Make sure to make a reservation or go early because they always have a long line even on a weekday, so if you love crispy, hearty katsu with a variety of creative options, Brown Donkatsu is definitely worth a visit. We’ll definitely be going back to try more of their menu!
Haven’t had it for ages, and once I took a bite, I literally couldn’t stop! The Cheese Bomb Katsu is perfectly fried to a golden crisp — the breadcrumb coating is thin and light, not oily at all. You can actually hear the crunch when you cut into it The pork inside is thick, tender, and juicy, locking in all the flavor. The best part is the molten cheese center — hot, stretchy, rich, and creamy, blending beautifully with the savory pork. Every bite is pure satisfaction! It comes with Japanese curry sauce underneath — rich, slightly sweet, not too spicy — perfect for most palates. On the side, there’s salad and corn, fresh and refreshing, balancing the richness of the fried cutlet. And guess what — you can even get a refill! My friend ordered the fried shrimp, which was also good, but nothing beats that gooey molten cheese. If you know what’s good, the pork cutlet is the one to get! (●´ω`●)
Food was fresh, and one of the best Katsu I’ve had. Not to mention the portions were so generous. Service was excellent as they checked up on us often and food didn’t take long to come out. Highly recommend!
Ordered the Pork Katsu Combo and it was HUGE! I could only finish one of the two pork cutlets. I recommend getting the sauces on the side so they are easier to take home if you end up having leftovers like I did. It also means that if you reheat leftovers in the oven or airfryer, the coating will crisp up again and not get soggy from the sauce on top. I actually preferred the brown sauce because i liked the sweet and sour flavour. The cream sauce was good, too, but it just felt a bit heavy with the fried pork. The corn was good. I would have preferred it warm instead of cold. I'm not a coleslaw fan, so I wasn't surprised I didn't really like it, but my friend enjoyed his. Overall, good food for a great value.
