Model Milk

Model milk has great food, ambience, and service. It is more laid back and casual for ambience but has stronger emphasis on food. Some items are great, some are just okay. I would recommend the octopus, calamari, or salad. The fried chicken wasn’t bad but it wasn’t exactly special either. Service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive and helped my friend who had a few too many drinks prior to dinner.

If you’re going at night bring a light! I have good vision and it was way too dark to read the menu. I’m sorry but if I have to have a light it’s too dark for me. It does make for a cozy atmosphere and if your date looks better in the dark it’s a great place to go. That doesn’t take away from the food as it was delicious. Got a burger with the Shishito peppers to start. Very good. It is pricey but excellent meal and cozy atmosphere.

READ IF YOUVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT TRYING THIS PLACE *** Model Milk has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I am so glad I finally went. From start to finish, it was an incredible experience. The staff made me feel so well cared for, especially Keenan and Levi, who went above and beyond with their service. My water glass was always full, everyone was attentive without being overbearing, and when I returned from the washroom to find a fresh cloth napkin waiting for me, I truly felt looked after in the most thoughtful way. Dining alone here felt comfortable and special. When I was waiting for my Uber outside after dinner, a staff member even came to check if I wanted water or needed anything, which was just another example of how great and caring the service is. The food was outstanding. The chefs deserve special compliments for the octopus, which was hands down some of the best I’ve ever had, completely on par with the fresh octopus I once enjoyed off the coast of Antalya. The honey butter buns are exactly everything you dream they would be: warm, rich, and addictive. And the espresso martinis? Impossible to have just one, they were that delicious. The atmosphere is vibrant yet welcoming, with a star quality that makes you feel like you’re part of something special the moment you sit down. I can’t say enough good things about Model Milk. If you’ve been thinking about going, don’t wait any longer. Treat yourself. Just do it. Wear the dress. And GO! whether with friends, a partner, or even on your own. This place is absolutely *worth it*

After all these years, this is still one of my favourite restaurants in Calgary! Food: oh man, where to start. Basically, you can’t go wrong. For a table of 4, we tried the shrimp toastie, calamari, beef tartare, and… something else yummy (don’t recall what it’s called). And while they are all a hit, we enjoyed the calamari the most. The burger is always solid, but my friends enjoyed the halibut, flat iron steak and the chicken. Model milk does a great job making classics their own and memorable, while also doing the simple things well. Apple pie was a great way to finish such an awesome meal. Service: attentive, friendly, but still elevated enough to make customers feel special and that they are enjoying their time out. Our server however did make an error on our bill. Atmosphere: I love the vibe of model milk, industrial, elevated but not fussy. Great for any night out. Value: for the taste, quality and quantity I think it’s great value. Will be coming back time and time again, and on my highly recommended list! Make sure you make a reservation in advance.

Awesome spot, we were visiting Calgary for a night frpm Vancoucer, and our good friends took us here and wow, very impressed. The food was amazing, ambience is so good and service was excellent all the way through. Did I mention that the food was amazing? That ribeye steak is insane, and everything else we ordered was also really, really good. We will make sure to come visit again the next time we are in town!

Amazing service, atmosphere, and of course food! The stories you've heard about the fried chicken are true: it's delicious! And if you get the shared platter, be prepared to to bring some home. Our servers were attentive made sure that we always had clean dishes and full glasses, and made us feel right at home. I also loved that they had a diverse selection of non-alcoholic beverage: beers, cocktails and even a wine. My only regret is not having enough room to try more food. I'll definitely be back for the octopus.

This place definitely superseded my expectations. From the moment I walked in the door and was seated with my guest. The attentiveness from every single staff member that approaches your table. Complete full description as they place the plate down. We shared the fry bread, which was overflowing with flavors, the calamari which is not your typical restaurant style this is pan fried to perfection, the hot chicken meal with coleslaw and buttermilk biscuits is to die for, perfect spice for a Nashville hot. Now my favorite part of every meal and the only thing I took pictures of desert. The apple pie with white cheddar in the crust, not to sweet but packed with apples, the chocolate desert was so smooth, rich a complete balance of dark chocolate and strawberry cream. Definitely a returning customer.

Amazing food and excellent service. Dropped by because Pedro Pascal said it was his favourite restaurant in Calgary and we had a great time. We got a seat by the kitchen and it was really fun watching them cook
