This place seems to be all the rave recently in Montreal food circles, and for good reason. I’m always a little skeptical when it comes to restaurants primarily serving mezes (small shareable plates), but we left absolutely stuffed and enable to eat more. The portions were really generous. The food itself was very very good, it still tasted Lebanese (which is what we wanted) but with a slight modern touch. I genuinely cannot say how I would improve any of the dishes we had, they were all delicious. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, with upscale look and a very nice bar. Staff were generally knowledgeable and courteous. It is pricier, but totally worth the money and perfect for any special occasion or nice business lunch (which there seemed to be lots of on a Wednesday night). We will definitely be recommending this place to everyone we know.

I visited SHAY today and had a wonderful experience. I ordered the lamb with eggplant, and it was excellent. The flavors were authentic and well-balanced, and you can tell the ingredients are high quality. The lamb was tender, and the side of crispy potatoes and pickled red cabbage provided the perfect contrast. If you're looking for great Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine with a modern touch, this is a fantastic spot. The food tastes as good as it looks! Highly recommend: The lamb with eggplant and the roasted potatoes.

Everything was exceptional, we had several dishes and hard to pick a favourite because each one tasted fabulous and was beautifully plated. However, the fingerling potatoes do not belong on the menu. We were craving fries and since those were no longer on the menu, we reluctantly went with potatoes. Clearly these are recycled from another dish because for a restaurant of this caliber to just slap 5 or 6 potatoes on a plate and charge 20 bucks doesn’t make any sense unless you’re trying to get rid of leftovers at an outrageous price. Other than that, absolutely fabulous!

The food was phenomenal. Flavorful, well-portioned. My bartender, Anna, was very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. She and Joshua (the other bartender) provided fantastic hospitality. I look forward to returning next time I’m in town. Update: Returned for Brunch the next day. Joshua and Shawn were my bartenders, and gave similar warm hospitality to last night. On their recommendations, I had the moutabbal and hashis makenek. Both fantastic - the latter was a creative canadian/middle eastern fusion dish, blending savory and rich spices. The moutabbal was smooth and bright; I’m not sure how they do it, but their flatbread are always pillowy and soft. I also got to try their poutine, which was rich, creamy, and just the right amount of fats. I didnt snap a picture of it (had to get it to-go!), but the Crepes Baclava smell divine.

This place was a fantastic atmosphere, so much so that I was momentarily worried about the prices when we walked in. Luckily the food was very well priced, but delicious far beyond what I was expecting. The dishes were creative and every flavour went together perfectly. This is my new favourite brunch spot in Montreal. Our server Shawn was attentive and welcoming. My girlfriend and I were able to be seated at the bat with no wait, but you probably need reservations for a table. Great spot, I will be back to try the rest of the menu.

We had a lovely brunch at Shay. We ordered the lamb toast special, soujuk omelette and hash. Everything was very good although the hash wasn’t as good as the other two dishes! The service was very friendly, food came out fast but it was a little loud. Still would return to try more dishes!

I had to get on here and give a review because this restaurant did not disappoint in any criteria!! I came here for brunch with my dad and ordered the Shakshuka (delicious and portion size is amazing) the Salmon dish was so fresh, and the Figs were juicy and sweet. Everything was spot on. Ambiance? 10/10, music choice? 10/10 (Frank Ocean, Sade, it doesn't get better) and the SERVICE is what makes this place memorable. Sean gave us shots on the house, Anthony made us laugh and Sabrina gave us the Dubai Chocolate French toasts on the house She's a sweetheart btw, def ask for her when you're here! They're all so sweet and they made my father's trip to Montreal so much more special by treating him with so much warmth and love Customer service makes all the big difference when it comes to a restaurant experience so I highly recommend this place to everyone Will def come back and bring my mom next time. Thank you guys!!
