What a beautiful day to spend on a terrace having lunch with friends. With a menu to satisfy all, this quaint local restaurant can please all. We had burgers and pasta. We ordered the Automatic burger, one with fried and one with salad (an extra charge was applied). The fries we crispy but not hot enough. While the burger was very good. Perfectly cooked and served on a toasted bun. What I really liked was that the lettuce, tomato and onions were served on the side. Therefore, they were not hot and soggy when it arrived at the table. According to my friend, the salad was delicious. The Bolognese pasta was a nice size portion loaded with beef and pieces of tomato. Service was very attentive, and we were given lots of time to chat even if it was rather busy.
Stopped in for a drink and snacks. Lovely patio and inside spaces. Great service! Loved the music (acoustic covers). Great vibe all around!
An absolute gem! We sat outside, and I loved it. The Filet de saumon grillé nappé d’un yogourt grec aux herbes fraîches et concombres (grilled salmon fillet topped with Greek yogurt, fresh herbs, and cucumbers), served with vegetable pilaf rice (26 CAD), was a true delight. The salmon was perfectly grilled, and the yogurt-herb sauce was a refreshing twist. The Bruschettas (8 CAD) were a fantastic start, and the soup was simply delicious. Despite the generous portions, I couldn’t have been happier trying everything. Each dish was gloriously amazing. To top it all off, I enjoyed a coffee with a piece of something sweet that was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. I also liked that they served us water, too. Bistro Garage Cafe offers not just food, but a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!
Would I come back: Yes! Probably our best meal in Montreal. Value: Good portion size and the food was really hearty. The Good: Great vibe and friendly servers - didn't feel out of place even though we were from out of town. The Bad: Food took a bit longer than normal - it was tasty though so we can't really complain. Bath/Rest/Wash-rooms: Didn't use.
Been coming to eat lunch here since 1997, only thing that has changed since then is ownership. Same great food, atmosphere, friendly service, and awesome terrasse in the warmer months as well. An long-standing gem of Verdun, highly recommend!
I'm a local Verdunian. With the construction post I wanted to go support the resto! The taste of the food was good, well cooked, but it did take over an hour for the main to be served. The staff should stir the soup before plating as mine was pure liquid and someone else got tons of shrimps and goodies. Also the Bavette was well cooked/seasoned but I did find the dish and protein cut size and sides small given it was the most $ on the menu.
