It was a good place to meet up with people and have a quick lunch.
Very charming restaurant with a boutique and flower shop. Food was good, service was slow
Excellent food, the burgers and Philly cheese steak are my favorites
We stopped in for lunch after seeing a post about it on Facebook. We figured we'd give it a try, and it did not disappoint! Probably some of the best burgers and chicken sandwiches we've had in a long time, and for a fair price. Lots of options on the menu as well, we will definitely be back!
Absolute Gem of a hole in the wall! We enjoyed everything we ordered. It was delicious! Shrimp & Grits, Carta Club sandwich, meatball sandwich, loaded Mac'n cheese, and the burger were all delicious! We also loved the old soda shoppe vibe! The owners were very sweet and hands on during the whole experience! I love that it is a local, family-ran business that offers local goods as well! I purchased an apron made by the owners' mom after we finished eating. Just an overall excellent experience!
The Monte Cristo and Drip Jam burger are my favorite items here. They have so much for everyone in terms of food and gifts. Well worth a visit to get lunch and shop around while you wait. Oh, and the owner makes cookies better than Crumble could attempt. If you see cookies in there you better grab them cause they sell out so fast too!
Come shop and slip back in time, enjoy sitting at your grandparents' table and order up a float, a sandwich, or shrimp and grits! A delicious fajita quesadilla came steaming to the table. They tasted even better than they looked, delicious! I would have enjoyed a few chips and salsa, that is extra, but they do offer it. Daily soups are hot, just add a grilled cheese sandwich! The menu is varied, it fits everyone's taste buds. Burger baskets to frito pie, there is a salad bar or order one of the yummy, creative sandwiches that accent the ice cream specialty offerings. Banana splits, malts, shakes, or just a cone is a perfect reason to stop by Carta Valley. There are local spirit items, vintage decor and handmade products for sale, a large assortment of knives make the perfect gift choice or you can purchase a trendy shirt or bag, hats or caps, there is a wide variety. Locally made spice and dip mixes are offered by one vendor, another has accessories. In between glass bottles of soda or bags of chips, there is that dessert case with handmade baked goods. FYI the Texas sheet cake was almost sold out before we ordered lunch at this busy local favorite spot, so I pre-ordered the slice. It was delicious, a heaping portion, or should I say it was Texas-sized! And that was just one of the cakes offered daily. The pass through to the neighboring sportsman's paradise should be more encouragement to get everyone inside to look, shop, wish, and taste! Tables were filled with groups, couples, and families and turned over well. Small staff size this day prevented constant attention. The tables were clean, the menu is readable, and the chairs were comfortable. Water cups are an additional charge, you will need to get up and refill your own drinks when the staff is busy, but enjoy a visit here soon!
I'm so happy this local gem found was able to find new ownership and continue to provide wonderful food. CVM has such a unique offering, but it definitely works in this small town. The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, and you can get fresh flowers or some very cute clothes from the boutique in the front of the building.
