Middletons

We had our anniversary meal here last night. We ordered the tomahawk steak to share with garlic mushrooms and chips as sides. We had the béarnaise, garlic butter and blue cheese sauces with a house red bottle (boca a boca). The waiter Dan was lovely and attentive. The atmosphere was lively but with a relaxed ambiance. There was a variety of people enjoying meals; families, larger groups and couples. The food was delicious! The steak had a lovely crispy sear on a few tiny parts that gave a flavor boost with the salt. The steak was so delicious we were sad when it was gone, melt in your mouth. The portion to share was just perfect in size and we were full but not stuffed. The béarnaise was delicious vinegary and creamy, the garlic butter was perfect as it should be and the blue cheese was so savory, we emptied the little sauce pans. We decided to pass on pudding as we didn't want to be bloated but we had an espresso martini instead. Very lovely to top it all off. Very glad we picked Middleton's for our special anniversary. I will definitely be recommending the restaurant to family and friends.

Every aspect of the meal was so tasty and flavourful. The fries are very special, the burger sauce was delicious, the steak in the wellington was as soft as butter, will definitely be back. Wonderful friendly service too

A fantastic bottomless brunch! 90-minutes and our drinks were never dry, friendly service and the food was delicious too - the burger patties so well seasoned! We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and it was fairly busy but easy enough to speak and service was super efficient too. Highly recommend.

Andrea manager is absolutely wonderful with her service! Food in here is pretty great! I usually go for steak with peppercorn sauce. Today I tried their cheeseburger for £10 as they have a lunch meal deal, you can get steak frites for £10 as well. Their sunday roasts are very good as well, highly recommend it.One of the best locations for food in Colchester.

I had dinner at Middletons for my friends birthday dinner and it was amazing. We ordered the sirloin steak, flat iron chicken, and the sticky toffee pudding (additionally my friend was also brought a birthday plate with a taster cake which was also delicious.) It was all very good but the sticky toffee really blew us away. Tom B was our server, he was very kind, conversational, gave me and my friend some great after dinner recs around the area and was very happy to answer all our questions. Thank you for the amazing service and food! We will definitely be back soon :)

We don't live in Colchester so don't visit this restaurant regularly however when we have been in the area we have always come here. The team are friendly and helpful, always willing to help, especially Tom who did remember us despite the gap in visits. The food is fantastic, the steak cooked to perfection. I highly recommend

Service makes this review an easy 5 stars! Made to feel welcome and appreciated as soon as walked in. Very friendly gentleman waiter and also lovely lady served us. Went above and beyond. Food was fantastic, recommend the Middletons Grill! Desert we had the Oreo cheesecake which was divine. Recommend for a lovely meal and service.

The service for our Christmas meal was absolutely 11/10! Vlad made the experience extra special with his humor and warm personality. There was no sense of being rushed, yet plates were cleared promptly after each course, and fresh cutlery was provided every time. They even offered to take our coats, which was a lovely touch. We had plenty of space, and the cost was exactly what we expected. Splitting the bill was effortless, tailored to what each person ordered. We will definitely be using this restaurant for future events! The location is perfect—right at the top of the high street, just a short walk from bus stops and the train station. We would absolutely recommend this venue for any event. They were incredibly accommodating to the variety of dietary requirements in our team, including coeliac, allergies, and vegetarian options. We could not have asked for a better experience!
