This White Spot location has been here for decades - I remember coming here often when we were still in school. Visited in October and the place always seems busy. Our server was working hard. Decided to have the Strawberry Mango Lemonade ($5.5) - bottomless and a touch too sweet. Also had their special Traditional Roast Turkey Dinner ($26) which came with all the fixins... mashed potatoes, stuffing, veggies, gravy, and cranberry sauce. The slices of turkey breast were actually pretty good. Perfect if you're looking for a Thanksgiving dinner without all the family drama of a home-cooked Thanksgiving.
Visiting the Bloedel Conservatory was an absolutely wonderful experience! The moment we stepped inside, we were surrounded by vibrant plants, beautiful flowers, and exotic birds that made the place feel like a peaceful tropical paradise. The atmosphere was calm and refreshing, perfect for escaping the city for a little while. Everything was well-maintained, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into keeping the conservatory so beautiful. I highly recommend this gem to anyone who loves nature, wants to see unique plant species, or simply enjoys a serene and colorful environment. Truly a memorable visit!
I met an old university alumni at this White Spot location. First time visit to this restaurant and was quite busy for the noon hour lunch. The ordered clubhouse and burger platter was up to the usual White Spot standards. Our server kept up with the busyness and drink refills were offered.
Been visiting this location since i was a child and have to admit by far this is my fav location due to being served by staff that have been around for decades and serving the most consistent food quality compared to many other locations we have visited within the lower mainland. Fries are always done perfectly and this visit I was so impressed by the sautéed onions I added to my burger. Sadly I have been to other locations where the sautéed onions request was met with a minimal amount and extra charge. Going forward this location will be our go to!
It’s my go-to spot for a solid breakfast. Nate’s hearty breakfast with half waffle and side of strawberry & whipped cream always hits the spot. yum
This is our family’s go-to White Spot location because the service, food and location are great! It seems like some servers have been there for a long time and recognize regulars. My kids enjoy the pirate paks and activity sheet that keeps them busy and allows them to practice ordering food. I tried the steelhead salmon burger for the first time and really enjoyed it. We visited on a Sunday at noon and it was busy and lovely with a 10-15 min wait.
Love: Hamburgers, zoo sticks, smash browns, cobb salad, beef ribs, shrimp & avocado bowl. Meh: Chicken pot pie (sparse filling), fried fish (oily), coconut shrimp (overcooked), sandwiches (basic). No: French fries (fresh potatoes = soggy fries), steaks (bit chewy), fish burger (fish overdone, too dry, lacked sauce), roast beef in yorkshire pudding (meat dry, presentation messy), steelhead trout on mash (overcooked and dry, even though I asked for it underdone). Food presentation sometimes looks rushed. Great friendly service. Spacious comfortable seating. Love the banquettes. But can get noisy when there's a full house.
The parking was plentiful and the service was excellent. We arrived just in time for happy hour, so we ordered a few items from the menu, all of which were delicious. Unfortunately, my favorite Seafood Fettuccine is no longer on the menu, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was still a positive experience.
The place was hoppin'. Holiday weekend. We arrived early, but the restaurant quickly filled. The server was attentive, but fast. He even took our picture. (We tipped appropriately.) The dessert was great. Good experience.
Went for dinner with a friend early Thursday evening, and decided on White Spot for something simple and casual. Haven't been this one in years. It was quite busy but didn't have to wait for a booth. That is one of the things I like about White Spot is they have many booths, including 2 person booths for cozy dinner. Decided to try their new comfort menu so ordered the Home-Style Pot Roast. It arrived quite quickly and it was very flavorful, with tender meat. A new favorite! Overall service was fine, although a little slow, but it was peak dinner hour. Pleasant experience.
Standard family restaurant quality. Friendly service
tl;dr: food is great, highly recommend the breakfast options, large portions, service is meh. Food Quality: 5/5 Been here three times and each time the quality of the food is consistent. The food is served hot, fresh and tasty. I highly recommend the breakfast options, I got the shrimp and avocado breakfast bowl, it came with smashed potatoes, egg benedicts, bacon, avocado and sourdough bread. It is super filling and tasty, and feels "healthy". I also tried the fries from the burger dishes and they were a tad bit too salty. Food Quantity: 5/5 The portion sizes of the dishes are quite standard for the price. We usually aren't able to finish our food because of how large the portion is. Service/Atmosphere: 3/5 Servers are kind of a hit or miss. Sometimes we get assigned a very friendly server, sometimes the servers are cold and not very friendly. For a restaurant like White Spot where we are expected to tip 15%, I'd expect better service.
Food is okay but service is great. Recommend going during happy hour.
