If you are looking for a place to go for some good steak and at a very reasonable price...this is it!!!! The wait is long, so be patient. Took a while before getting seated at a table, but everyone was super friendly, kind, and very excellent service. We most definitely WILL be back!
One of my favorite Supper Clubs in the area. It was very crowded on Sat night, as expected but they did a good job of moving people along. Order old fashions in the bar (we like bourbon/sour). Super fresh salad bar with lots of toppings. My 6oz filet was grilled as ordered, medium rare, and the perfect portion. The scallops were delicious and that’s hard to do…we recommend both. Definitely stop here for an authentic supper club experience.
The name is the best description. It is an old boarding house, turned into amazingly quaint supper club. You walk in and are greeted by the hostess and get to belly up to the bar while you wait. There is a salad bar and delicious soups. Their old fashions are made with either honey or maple syrup, no sugar water! All the tables and chairs are mismatched which adds to the old school feel! Delicious food and great service! A must try!
This was our first time ever here. We loved it. The owner and all the staff were fabulous, personable and happy to be there. The food was excellent. I had tenderloin and shrimp scampi and my hubby had prime rib and bluegill. YUM! Salad bar was fresh and delicious. 10/10 recommend trying this place!
This Suppper club was fantastic! From the drinks to the dinner, the old fashioned, ice cream drinks are awesome! definitely try oneSala bar, soups are fantastic, all in house made along with in house made salad dressing staff was very friendly, highly recommend, we'll definitely make the hour trip to eat this delicious meal
Nice place. Had to order at the bar and then was shown a table. Had the prime rib. It was okay. It tasted like beef stock. The salad bar was great, and the bread was hit.
This restaurant was a true surprise to find! It took an hour to get to - we had an hour wait - BUT LET ME TELL YOU - IT WAS WORTH EVERY MINUTE OF THE WAIT!!! Every aspect of our experience at The Boarding House was nothing short of phenomenal...from the hostess to the bartenders to all of the waitstaff - we were treated with kindness and respect and everyone was so friendly and helpful and genuinely amazing! The salad bar, albeit on the smaller side compared to some supper clubs, WAS SO FRESH and so clean and everything was absolutely delicious...especially the ranch salad dressing!!! Also, the SOUP - WOW - just incredible, I literally tipped the bowl to inhale it like I'd never owned a spoon in my life Then came the main course - our tenderloin steaks and baked potatoes...when I say this was the best steak Ive ever had in all my 45years, I am not exaggerating - it really was. It was cooked to perfection, perfectly seasoned, and it just felt like it melted in your mouth! Every single bite was excellent - and there was not a single ounce of fat on my entire tenderloin, it was simply the best CUT of steak Ive ever had as well...so was my partners, we were both so impressed! I also have to give a quick shootout to the baked potatoes - most supper clubs the potatoes are cooked early, wrapped, and just served all night...and you can tell in the look and taste....BUT NOT HERE! These potatoes were actually freshly baked, you could see it in the texture and the taste - and it was just the icing on the cake of the entire meal!!! So...I k ow its probably a haul to get there...but get there - enjoy a drink or two while you wait (which are also fantastic) - and then experience all this little hidden gem has to offer!!! You will not be disappointed!
Went here last night with my wife and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere is everything a true Wisconsin supper club should be. Warm, welcoming, and done right. You can tell real care goes into every detail, from the menu to the service to the overall vibe. This place feels authentic in the best way. If you are looking for a legit Wisconsin supper club experience, this is it. We will definitely be back.
