This was my first time at Baan Thai and it went very well. Had the chicken lunch special and enjoyed it very much! The dipping sauce for the chicken and spring roll were spiced just right. When you order they will ask how spicy you want your meal and will ensure you get a great experience. The staff were fantastic! Attentive without being obtrusive. I would highly recommend!

Thai Lovers unite!!! This little hidden gem has food that is layers of goodness leaving an orgasm in ones mouth. Portions are great meaning hey I’m leaving satisfied n full! I got the Thai red curry with a side of rice. A drunken noodle was also ordered with not a speck left on the plate! If you’re not used to hot spicy food…I’d suggest mild. If you’re a pro like myself I’d suggest hot. I ordered medium and thought of mild but hey imma half Asian and can deal with spice! Great happy hour selection with after 9pm specials. Anyways, just Go! the food can’t wait to return! To the owners please open in Nanaimo or closer to…we NEED your food!

This has been the highlight of our trip so far. The food was fantastic. We had the clams in red curry sauce from their seasonal menu. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I could have just eaten like a huge pot of it with a bowl of rice. So good. The clams were huge and NOT overcooked, which is an instant downer if they are overcooked. The Tom Yum was the only thing we didn't care for. Too sour for our liking. But everything else was so good. The staff was very nice and lovely. Very helpful. We ended up here by accident. We had picked like 3 other Thai restaurants before this one, but they all closed for break at 2pm. This one was open so we went there. A nice bonus was- they had a happy hour special they do every day from 2-5 with specially priced food/drinks. So a nice added bonus. Good food. Great service. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

Great experience, went back the next night again. My wife and I were in Victoria for a church conference and were looking for good food late at night (after 10pm). The ambiance was awesome. We were served by Autumn who was very attentive and gave us great suggestions along with personable table service. Would definitely recommend their happy hour pad Thai special. My favourite though was Autumn’s recommendation of the drunken noodles which I had with the seafood medley along with extra basil

Baan Thai wok and Bar Smells great when you walk in. We were seated right away. Atmosphere is nice and what you’d expect from a Thai restaurant during Christmas time. Thai nachos were interesting and not bad. Ground beef mixed with rice and they give wonton pieces for the “chips”. Ordered a chicken pad Thai with 3 stars spicy. It’s a little mild for 3 stars. They also had mushrooms in it…interesting addition. I’m not sure what the flavor was about my meal but it was really different. After a while i couldn’t finish it…the taste was too strong. It was like the flavor of the oil the meat was grilled on or something….kinda over powering. I can’t say if this flavor is a Canadian Thai flavor or what…I’d need to try more than one Thai restaurant. However, I will definitely try a different restaurant before coming back.. The others in my party really enjoyed their food…drunken noodles and some other dish I can’t recall at the moment. Overall, I’ll give it a 3 1/2 - 4.

The food was decent, my dish the Larb wasn't thought, super salty over powering flavour don't get that dish. The other dishes had a nice flavor. The server we had was nice but not attentive or helpful. We waited a while and had to keep signaling her to get her attention and the restaurant was empty. But I guess she was distracted making her own drinks at the bar.

I went for lunch here and ate from their lunch menu! I used to frequent this place as a university student and the food has not changed. Still amazing! I enjoyed A on the lunch menu which wad stir fried veggies, jasmine rice and chicken! I ordered spicy and it didn’t disappoint, thankfully I had a complementary side of cabbage and carrot soup to clean the palate before devouring this lovely meal. Service was superb, atmosphere was calm and lovely. I will be back! Don’t change Baan Thai! Your food is delicious.
